@ Souro: I do partially agree with you. The most active members are the ones usually selected to be a viewbie or mod. But how fair of a decision is it to give em the title just on the basis of their interest in a particular forum and their "activenss"...does it relate much to the responsibility they're being given? How can they be sure the person would prove as good mod and be unbiased. No one is a saint, I know that ... however, if you're given a certain tag, you're supposed to go by the guidelines. So, even if the mod feels bad when some "basher" (thats what they call the people who seem to have a different opinion, most of the times...tsk tsk) posts, let's say, a negative point about your favourite, there the responsibility of the mod will be to act maturely and not get too pissed off but if they can't do that then atleast act politely and don't go stalking after the person!
Shak, nice topic. =)

im fine with 16 and older... after all people are allowed to drive at 16... why not moderate..my issue is with below 16 yr olds

if u read what i posted... IF's policy shows specific rules for those between 16 and 18 too😆

Well I think much of it depends on personal experiences.
Those who had bad experiences will think negatively and likewise who had good experiences with the DT will have good things to say.
As for me, I've seen both. I've seen good and I've seen the not so good. People got promoted for flirting with a CM. Infact, became a Mod within a blink.
And there are people who are really good but have not been promoted.
There are DT members for whom the DT status is the highest achievement of their life and there others who interacts with other members very normally.
My experience says not so good VBs or Mods are few. Most are actually good and wants to enjoy here on IF, just like you and me.
So, don't hold the age of the DT member against them. Yes there is a policy and it specifically mentions 16 yrs. But remember, this is vl, anyone can fake their age also. So, even if someone say that I'm 20 yo, in reality s/he might be a 15 yo. Judge them only by their actions.

Actually I'm not. I mean, technically you can still say I am but I've already given it up and just waiting for the vb rights to be removed from me. My name is already up in the list for removal.

Having Dev Team members below 16 flouts the rule.. and in a way makes the IF privacy policy null and void!

Are you frggin' serious? When I joined IF, then it was PG-13 Forum. Since when had it turned into PG-16? And what will we have later? NC-17 perhaps?

I dont know..that is what India-Forum's policy statement says

and as for NC-17 material... there are a few in the FF section... i have reported a few based on teh content too...

@souro
lets say I have seen good and bad DT members.. but the good were outnumbered or just went inactive....
and were replaced by a bunch that did not live up to the name of their predecessors..sam was one of teh best CMs i knew... it was personally a sad day for me when she went inactive..and she was teenager too if i remember right...

there were some warnings i have seen were nothing but temper tantrums not befitting their titles...

yes it is a virtual world... but virtual world has its rules and legal policies too...😊

and oh well...i dont complain aimlessly...
