At night Bani was standing in the balcony and admiring the moon. So, did you have fun making a fool of me???? Bani was startled hearing Jai's voice. She didn't realize that Jai had come and stood next her. She looked at him and smiled. Why didn't you tell me that you were Bani???? Jai asked

Well!!!! I was enjoying the beautiful comments that you were making on me. U know, the bewakoof and chote sheher ki ladki. Bani reminds him of what he said at the station. Aur jhooti bhi. Big liars!!!! Jai added Bani smiles. Well!!! Aap ne bhi toh jhoot kaha ki maine aapka intezaar nahi kiya. Jai nods his heads. Hmmm theek kaha, jhoot tumne bhi kaha aur maine bhi, toh hisab barabar. Bani nodded. Jai put his hand forward. Ammm?? Friends!!!! Bani smiled and placed her hands in his. Friends!!!! When her hands touched his, they felt a shiver run down their spine. Jai reluctantly let go off her hand and smiled mischievously. Waise tumne acha bewakoof banaya mujhe. Then he starts imitating the way she spoke to him at the station. Bani starts laughing at this.

Part 4

Jai was brought back to reality. Jai??. Jai?? Aditya nudged Jai by his shoulder. Kis soch mein doobe hue ho??? Jai shrugged his shoulder. Chalo office aagaya. They stepped out of the car and walked in through the office door. As soon as he entered the office, Jai attracted a lot attention, especially from his female employees, who shamelessly ogled at their handsome boss. Although knew about this, he hardly paid any attention to it. As he made way to his cabin, the employees wished him Good morning, Sir. Jai responded to them by nodding his head

Jai entered his office. His office was grand, masculine and very spacious, a huge wooden desk took most of the space at one end, and he had big brown leather couches, on one side. He walked to his desk, took off his blazer and set it on the chair. He sat down and engrossed himself in work.

Jai was immersed in work when his phone rang. He picked it up without looking at the caller. Hello!!!! Jai Walia??..

Jai, where are you??? Lunch nahi karna hai???? Aditya spoke from the other end. Jai looked at his watch and was shocked to see the time. He was so engrossed in his work that he didn't realize that it was nearly lunch time. Hmmm?. Just give me ten minutes, I'll cum down. Jai replied. He picked up his blazer and started wearing it when his eyes fell on a photo frame set on his desk. Picking it up, he stared at it.

It had a photo of him and Bani wrapped in each other's arms. It was taken on the same beach where he had confessed his love for her. It was taken on her birthday. They had spent the whole day together. He had wanted to take her to a fancy restaurant for lunch, but she had insisted on going to a dhaba. After their lunch, they had gone for a stroll on the beach. Dressed in a simple white churidaar, she looked like an angel. An angel sent from heaven only for him. This is the best birthday I have ever had in my entire life. She had said to him as she laid wrapped in his arms after he had made love to her.

The photo was very special to him. Why????????? He didn't know. It was special maybe because it was her birthday or maybe because that was the last picture he had of them together or maybe that was the last of the happiest and the most beautiful moments he spent with her, the last time he had kissed her, touched her, made love to her, the last time he heard her say that she loved him, before she left him. No??? he made her leave him.

Jai kept staring at the picture. They looked so happy and complete. The smile on their faces made it evident. The smile on her lips made her face glow. Her beautiful eyes told that she was his. His eyes held passion and immense love for her and likewise they also told that he was hers. Her simplicity and innocence made him want take care of her.

Bani was so different from him. She was exactly opposite to him. If he preferred to dine in fancy restaurant, she preferred dhaba. He dreamt of a big house, a mansion, while she was happy in a small apartment. Where he had the hunger for success and fame, she was content with the small things they had.

She was not like other women, who were with him only for his money. The women he dated in the past 4yrs wanted to be known as Jai Walia's girlfriend and nothing more. They wanted Jai Walia, the businessman. But Bani, she loved Jai, the plain middle class man. These qualities made her stand apart from others and that's what made him fall for her.

Jai was brought back to reality by a loud knock on the door. He placed the photo on the table and composed himself. Come in. The door opened. It was Ranveer standing at the door. He came inside and stood before him and handed a file to Jai. I have gone through the proposal of Deb Industries. It's a good offer, can be beneficial to Walia Group. I think you should also go through it. Ranveer said.

Jai took the file and went through it. Hmmm. I'll do that. What about the show they were planning in our hotel.

Their team will be arriving within a week or two weeks. Saying this Ranveer starts walking out of the cabin. Jai saw his retreating back. Ranveer!!!! Ranveer stopped in his tracks but did not turn to face his brother. Jai was a bit hesitant but asked with a little hope. Ammm??? Ranveer??.. It's lunch time. I'm going out for lunch with Aditya??. Ammm??? Would you like to join us????

Still not looking at him Ranveer replied. No, Thank you, SIR!!!!! I'm not hungry. Stressing on the word sir, he walked out of the office. Jai curled his fist tightly to control the emotions that were ready to burst. His cellphone rang. He picked it up. Aditya, I'm coming. He knew it was Aditya, hanging up he left the office.

Jai and Aditya entered the restaurant. They were shown their table by the manager, who had come personally to greet them. They placed their order and began discussing about Deb Industries and their upcoming fashion event. After some time the food arrived and they started eating. While eating Jai suddenly went quiet as his eyes fell on a table located at the other end of the restaurant. The colour drained from his face and his heart sank. Noticing the change in Jai's face, Aditya's eyes followed the direction in which Jai was looking. He understood why all of a sudden Jai had gone quiet. There on the table sat Ranveer having lunch with his friends. Jai swallowed the lump rising in his throat. Jai khana khalo. Aditya told him. Jai nodded his head and continued eating. But he was unable to eat anything more, his appetite was long gone. They somehow finished their lunch and went back to the office.

In the evening while going home, Jai stopped his car in front of a small florist shop. He entered the shop and searched around for something. Once he found what he was searching for, he told the old lady on the counter to pack them. The old lady who was in her mid 50's smiled at him. She picked up the white lilies; he had asked for and packed them for him. She was curious about this man standing in front of her. She had seen him come and buy white lilies from her shop every day. She knew that he was the rich and famous Jai Walia. But what she had observed about him was his eyes. His eyes had sadness and pain in them. Pain of having lost something or someone very precious. But his eyes lit up when he saw white lilies. She often wondered about what was so special about these flowers. Whatever it was, it made him smile.

Smiling at the old lady, Jai paid for the lilies and started walking out of the shop. The lady couldn't take it anymore. Excuse me sir!!!! She called out to Jai. Hearing the lady's voice Jai stopped in his tracks and turned around to face her. She came and stood in front him. Mr. Walia, if you don't mind can I ask you a personal question??? Jai gave her blank look. The lady kicked herself in her mind for being so blunt. For a second she thought that Jai would explode in anger, but to her surprise he smiled at her. Sure??. But please call me Jai. The lady smiled at him. You've been coming to my shop everyday and buying these same flowers. And your eyes hold so much pain but they light up when you see them. What's so special about them???

Jai smiled at her but it did not reach his eyes. These flowers remind me of someone who's very close to my heart.

Well!!!! Whoever that someone is, must be very special. The lady replied.

At once Jai's eyes were filled with warmth and love. Yes!!!! She is very special??? Yeh white lilies usse bahut pasand hai.

Bahut pyaar karte ho na use???. Woh ladki jo bhi hai bahut kushnaseeb hai. The lady smiled seeing the warmth in his eyes.

Jai laughed bitterly. Kushnaseeb woh nahi???.. main tha???. Jise uska pyaar mila???Par main uske pyaar ko samajh nahi paya. Shayad isliye aaj woh mere saath nahi hai.

The lady got a little confused. Tumhare saath nahi hai???? Matlab????

Jai looked at her with pained expression. Chali gayi???. Meri zindagi se dur??? Mujhe chodke??? She left me. No!!! I made her leave me. She wanted me to stop her, par maine ek baar bhi uski taraf mudke nahi dekha. Kho diya maine usse???. Pata nahi kaha hai??.. Kaisi hai???.Kis haal mein hai???. Kabhi meri zindagi mein laut ke aayegi ya nahi????.. Shayad mere kismet mein hi uska pyaar nahi hai. The lady did not know how to react. They were quiet for some time.

Main chalta hoon. Jai spoke breaking the silence between them.

Ek minute beta!!!! The lady stopped him from taking a step. She picked up a rose and pinned to his blazer.

Yeh kisliye???? Jai asked.

The lady smiled at him and said. Beta, log kehte hai ki main jise sache dil se dua de doon na toh uski dil ki khwahish puri hoti hai. Main nahi janti isme kitni sachai hai??..lekin agar sach hai toh, toh main sach dil se dua maangti hoon ke tumhe apna khoya hua pyaar mil jaye??? Aur dekhna bahut jald tumhara pyaar tumhare zindagi mein phir laut aayega??? hamesha ke liye.

Jai was touched by her words. He did not have any words to express himself. He took her hand in his and placed a soft kiss on them. Thank you. He said. God bless you my child. The lady replied.

Jai left from there with a smile on his lips. His eyes had a glint of hope in them. Hope that his lost love would return to him one day.
