chapter 2
Heer's heart almost stopped beating........
she started looking for Divya all over the house.... she was not in heer's room either... then wen she was walking towards her parents room she suddenly heard some crying... and knew that it was Divya.
They always went in there wen they missed their parents. Heer knew that Divya missed them alot and that she always came in here. Heer walked into the room to find Divya sitting on the floor leaning on the bed post crying.
Heer wailked upto Divya and sat on the floor in front of her and said " Hey sweety, what are you doing here? i was looking all over for you..." Divya looked up at heer and said " didi, i miss mamma a lot... i want her to come back.. look" she showed her shoes.. " mamma use to tie my shoes everyday, and now she's not here to do it, i want her to tie it 4 me" and she cried again. Heer didn't knw what to do, she missed her mom too.. but she understood that their mother would never come back. but Divya will never get it at this age, " listen, my little sweety... you know that mamma wont come back into our lives rite? and that when ever you need to tie your shoe lace you just have to come to me i will do it for my little angel okay? "but i miss mamma a lot..." Divya said again, her eyes were filled with tears. Heer felt like crying too.... but she always had to control it for her little brother and sisters sake. " Divya, i miss mamma too but we will have learn how to live without her okay? the only thing we can do that is to stick together and solve every problem that comes our way...." Heer knew that Divya wouldn't understand at this age, but wen she grows up she will...
Then Heer tied Divya's shoe lace.. Divya was still crying and hugged Heer really tightly... Heer knew that she was really hurt but what could she do? nothing but to be with her... Heer kept holding Divya for a while and calmed her down and washed her face and carried her downstairs, where everyone else was.
they were all ready to go to school, Tanya said, " didi, we are getting late.... we'll go now.." she came and hugged heer and gave her a kiss, followed by Meher and nihal and finally Divya kissed Heer, and they all left for school.
Heer felt really bad, cz she didn't even have time to drop them to school cz she had to be at work really early in the morning. the 4 children always went to school by themselves. sometimes Heer felt really uncomfortable thinking that something might happen to them... Heer suddenly realized that she will get late for work, so she left home quickly.
Meher, Tanya, Nihal and Divya always walked to school alone.. they were used to it.. they knew that their sister worked really hard to make them happy. so they didn't want to force their sister to do anything for them.
They were walking down the road... Nihal always carried his basket ball with him, almost near the school he accidently dropped it, and it rolled across the road. Nihal ran behind the ball to get it and the ball was in the middle of the road, he reached for the ball and picked it up and turned to go back when he saw a big truck coming towards him. he didn't knw what to do.... he heard his sisters screaming his name out... he looked at his sisters and then back at the big truck, and suddenly he felt something push him awayfrom the road .
Nihal was on the ground and on top him was the man who saved him from the truck. Meher, Tanya and Divya ran upto nihal they were too shocked and Divya was crying...
the man got up and helped Nihal to stand... Nihal's hand was wounded and he was about to cry. the man bent down and asked the little boy " are you alrite? don't cry... i'll take you home so your parents can help you..."
then Meher said, " no one is at home sir, we'll go to school and the school nurse will help him... and thank you sir forsaving my brother"
the man thought that, this was not a good idea, he saw the little boy in pain and the smallest child who was holding on to her sister crying... he couldn't just let them go without helping them. then he said to the girl he thought was the eldest, " listen i think it's better if i take him to a doctor now, your little sister is also crying , you try to calm her down."
Meher didn't know if it was okay to trust a unknown man or not.... but she had seen this man before , every morning she sees him near school... he goes to the elders home that is close to their school.. Meher was lost in her thoughts.. wen the man said " i knw your worried and that you shouldn't be trusting a stranger, but i promise i wnt do anything... trust me" Meher didn't know what to do.... if you take Nihal we are all coming with you... cz we all stick together..that's wt didi always tells us"
the man smiled and nodded his head and bent down to carry Nihal, and Nihal looked at Meher and she just nodded her head... and Nihal looked at the man with tears in his eyes and gave a small smile. the man carried him, while Meher carried Divya to calm her down, Tanya who still looked shocked was holding on to Meher.
the man felt really sorry for them, they were all going to school by them selves when this happened. they all got in to his vehicle which was a SUV..... He put all the kids in the back seat and started the car... then he decided to intoduce himself...." by the way i'm prem... prem Juneja.. what are your names?" he looked at meher. Meher said, " my name is Meher, this is Tanya" she pointed at the girl who was sitting on her right side " and this is Nihal" she ponted at the boy who was sitiing on her left side... who was still in pain... "and this is Divya" she showed the girl was sitiing on her lap... she looked more calmer...
Prem looked at boy and said "hold on for a little while more Nihal, in a few minutes we'll reach the doctor's place.... after a while they reach the doctor's place and prem carried Nihal while all the others came behind him. he took Nihal upto the doctor and explained everything and the doctor took Nihal into the room to dress up his wound.. and told the others to stay outside.
then Prem looked at Meher and said, " i think i should inform your parents about the accident and tell them to come here, would you please give me the number?" Meher's face changed when Prem asked about their parents...and he didn't knw why... and then Meher said, " prem sir, you can call our sister, she's the one who takes care of us.. cz our parents aren't alive anymore.
Prem didn't know wt to say, he felt really sorry for them, 4 children without their parents and their sister taking care of the, must be a hard life, he thought... then he said " i'm really sorry to hear about your parents... so then woul you please give me your sisters number... and oh what is her name?" Meher gave the number to him and said that her sisters name was Heer... nice name.... prem thought... and he called Heer..and from the other side of the phone he heard a girl with a sweet voice say " hello....."
ps:- by any chance if ur'll think i haven't decribed prem properly.... that's going to be in the next chapter.... 😊
