I love saif's overall demeanor! He's such a fantastic actor.

But yaar, I though kareena was fantastic. And she's coy coz these are the initial days you know, you're dating, getting ot know each other. It started off with just him offering her his hand to hold after he's done with prayer.

And as the song goes on, they become increasingly comfortable aroudn each other and more affectionate.

I'd be a melted puddle too if that man was that touchy feely around me 😳

Yeah couples are out and about in Delhi too. I never thought to think about whether they were Muslims or not. Ofcourse every once in a while you get the RSS types going around creating a ruckus over it. 🤢

For instance restaurants get vandalized in some places on Valentine's Day.

Well where I live couples are all over each other.. making out in classrooms.. theater.. restaruant ques.. everywhere.. it gets annoying after a while..hehe.. specially when I wonder why not me... LOL..

I'm muslim, come from a muslim background.

And I can tell you, all my friends hold hands wiht their boyfriends/husbands. I've seen my aunt and uncles being affectionate, and hold hands when they recently got married.

So rensil is pretty accurate.

Saif and Kareean are a modern day couple. Its realistic that they are shown being affectionate.

But in a very subtle way..till the end atleast, but come on, even that's reality, lol

No they are moderate. Like I said, none of them are hijabis, they curse and didnt even fast throught Ramadan. Thats why I thought it was a bit odd when they said that they won't even hold hands. I even made fun of them for saying that, lol. But I do know some conservative muslims too, we're actually family friends with this muslim couple and they dont like it when my brother goes to their house wearing shorts.😕

I have seen some muslim couples being affectionate too, and some Hindu couples too..but never to this extent. Like I remember you said that Kareena is a conservative muslim and thats why she's wearing full sleeves in the movie, when I heard about the kissing scenes, I thought that would be all private, and there is nothing wrong with that, but in public? Ok forget the whole religion deal, but India doesnt even allow PDA, I don't know...I might be wrong.

Notice, taht the song becomes increasingly intimate as they show time passing by and them getting to know one another.

The start is just him offering her his hand after his prayers. And just that gesture means a lot ot her. you can read it on kareena's face. Perhaps the first sign of affection Ehsaan shows. You can see that whens he's sitting on the stairs, she looks anxious, excited, and unsure.

Then, sitting across from one another wiht the fire. And feeling the sparks (literally, there are sparks flying over the fire...no seriously, I mean LITERAL sparks, sholay, haha, actual sparks seen around the flame).

Then I'm guessin gmore time passses, he comes visits her in the classroom.
Forward, they start to meet up. He's laying in the grass, she drops by, thsi time she's much more comfortable, they're talking, laughing.

Then in the library, when she's writing. He comes up behind her, brushes fingers. That's another step in intimacy, though still subtle, not direct.

THen they show them holding hands near the pillar, kareena in red. And that is perhaps the first time they get really intimate with each other. You can read it on her face as well. She looks nervous/excited as he's coming closer Wink

The rest of the song has them COMPLETELY at ease with one another, cuddling, hugging, laughing. Acting liek a legit couple with lots of PDA

And ofcourse, the end, I'm guessing is their first kiss. ANd there, what I liked is the fact that they showed Ehsaan kept his limits. He didnt make the first move there, but kareena did (DAMN IT, what's her name?!?!).

Same here, but I havent seen conservative Muslims or Hindus make out. Yet to see that one.
