Arjun the Genie - If Only HP Knew
First Impressions Count
Professional speakers and trainers have long asserted that people make up their minds about people they meet for the first time within two minutes. Others assert that these first impressions about people take only thirty seconds to make. As it turns out, both may be underestimates. According to Malcolm Gladwell, in Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, the decisions may occur much faster - think instantaneously or in two seconds.
Not everyone is as forgiving as Arohi and First Impressions count for a lot most times. Within this context Arjun fear of HP is not unrealistic for two reasons. (1)He made a really bad first impression with HP the first time they directly interacted. (2) He knows he won't get an Yes from Arohi if HP does not give him the GREEN signal, so his life is at stake.
Let's explore the first shall we? What's the first thing that HP learnt about AP? That he hates women - a bunch of his gossiping buddies told him that. Arohi and Punji's own mom later confirmed as much. What did Punji do the first time he genuinely interacted with Arjun? See below. He called Hariprasad a Liar, insulted Arohi, and called their whole family dhokebaaz in a Bhari Mandap. Was HP guilty? Was Arohi guilty? Was Purvi guilty? NO. Did Arjun ever say sorry for his misconduct after that day to any of them? NO. Even if HP does not know about AA's relationship or what happened the Engagement Party, HP knows that Arjun made Arohi work of her three week notice.
He rescued Arohi & HP after the accident. But, does HP really know that? Yes. HP told him to go after Arohi... but, after he picked her up - he may have called for an ambulance/transport, na? Meaning he didn't carry HP, DK, and Arohi to the hospital on his back like a pack mule. He had to have called for help. Gotten ambulances there for transport. Then probably ridden along with Arohi to the hospital maybe? HP most likely in a different ambulance. Yes. I am speculating... but, LOGICALLY its possible that HP doesn't comprehend that Arjun is the one that initiated their rescue that night. Hell for all we know HP may have passed out after telling Arjun to find Arohi. As such, HP's assumption that Arjun was trying to "kill" them by causing the accident not super far fetched especially if you consider how atrociously/shabbily he treated HP and his entire family at the Mandap. He told off Arohi in front of her dad too. Also, iby now everyone in Shimla including HP no doubt knows that AP dumped Nattasha before engagement. HP has gotta know this if not the wajah or significance of that info. If he knows that info.. then again - its another X against Arjun - it does not exactly count in his favour that he ditched natasha for no apparent reason. It just makes Arjun look like a Player. All in all even before the fire (which i agree HP should not have blamed AP for), Arjun and his Daddy reaally managed to make a horrible impression with HP.
