Hey Aneek fans, great news! I was fortunate enough to meet Aneek for the second time within a year. I am so glad he came becuase I would have never known that this kid is such a wonderful human being. Did you know that he is a great cook? I told him that the girl he is going to marry will be very fortunate to have a singer come cook husband in her life!!!! He prepared the most delicious shrimp dish I have ever had. Oh I must mention that he also plays the piano very well. I was informed by him that along with everything he is trying to complete his degree in sound engineering. Please wish and pray a lot of success for the champ!!

ZEE NITE BANGKOK 2009 SHOW
The "Zee Nite Bangkok 2009" show, held on Saturday at the Muang Thai Rachadalai Theatre, was a scintillating evening of Bollywood music and dance rhythms, which have recently become widely popular thanks to the global success of Slumdog Millionaire.
The grand finale of the event saw all major stars of the show appear together, including Aneek Dhar, Harpreet Deol, Yashita Yashpal Sharma, Rohan Preet Singh and Kushal Punjabi.
In fact, the film's Jai Ho number was one of many popular Indian songs enjoyed at the packed auditorium, where winning artists of the best-known music/dance talent show of the famous Zee TV channel of India, set the Bangkok stage on fire.
Singers Aneek Dhar, Harpreet Deol and Yashita Yashpal, from famed talent show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, performed with dancers Kushal Punjabi and Jaswir Kaur, from Ek Se Badkar Ek, another talent show.
Also making a guest-appearance was 14-year-old Rohit Preet Singh, a finalist in the "Lil Champs" section of the talent show.
The youngster nearly stole the spotlight from his adult colleagues as he sang, swung, chatted and interacted marvellously with his audience, proving how the talent show makes stars of its best contestants.
The Sikh boy kept a hectic schedule in Bangkok, which included meet-and-greet sessions at various Indian restaurants, a visit to a local gurudwara and Sikh school, not to mention a private performance at a Sikh party.
Geoffrey Heydt, of IMI (Asia) which represents many singers in Thailand including Tata Young, said he was totally impressed by the youngster's "talent and confidence".
Among the adult singers was Aneek Dhar, who won the 2007 talent show with a record 3.6 million votes, and has already released his first album, which reached the top of the charts. The artist grandly resurrected many golden oldie Bollywood songs, with his superb voice and spirit.
Singer Harpreet Deol sang a medley of Punjabi folk numbers and snazzy Bollywood songs, and had the audience on their feet with his lively charm and spontaneity.
Yashita Yashpal, a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa finalist in 2009, used her blazing voice to spin out many popular Bollywood songs as she chatted, laughed, and formed a strong rapport with the audience.
The two dancers, Jaswir Kaur and Kushal Punjabi, sizzled on stage, backed by a live band and six pulsating back-up dancers from the troupe of well-known choreographer Swarupraj, who have partaken in many live Bollywood shows around the world.
Jaswir was petite and pretty, while Kushal, with his muscly arms and strong body, performed with explosive energy.
Many compared his superb dance movements with top Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who performed at the IIFA Awards in Bangkok last year.
What was most impressive about the Zee Nite show was the superb talent and showmanship of a bunch of "ordinary" individuals who have made it big, purely on the basis of their success on an intensely competitive TV talent show.
The performers, including the young 14-year-old, have achieved stardom in India, signed multi-million rupee contracts and become household names around the world, including Thailand, as the Bangkok show revealed.
The show also revealed that the successful contestants have not lost touch with their roots and the audiences who "made" them. And it was this that accounted for the unique, interactive quality of the show, which resulted in an evening of exhilarating, unadulterated entertainment.
The last song, where the entire troupe came on stage, stepped down among the people, sang, and swung with them, reflected the strong bond felt between the artists and their audience.
To quote Thai actress Krsytal Vee who was mesmerised by the show, "It felt like everyone was family."
Contributing to the interactive spirt and energy of the show was the dynamic host of the evening Harjit Tulsi, who mixed "Amazing Thailand" comments with naughty Thaksin jokes to keep the audience on a high.
All in all, it was a sumptuous evening of talent, energy, showmanship and spectacle, in the best traditions of Bollywood.
Seasoned Thai music critic Dumras Rojanavich called it a "Thrilling experience! The music, to me, was world music, almost similar to Greek music. All the singers were excellent!"
"They are so talented - it would be great to do a Bollywood film!" exclaimed Thai actor Akara Amarttayakul, who recently won the Superstar Reality Show in Thailand, and who was an excited spectator at the Zee Nite show, as well as the IIFA Awards show last year. Akara also met Bollywood directors and stars when he attended the International Film Festival of India, in Goa, last year, and said he was "totally impressed".
NCL (NIIFT Co. Ltd), the local representative of Zee TV in Thailand, hope the success of the Zee Nite show in Bangkok will bring more Zee TV shows to the city, such as the "Zee Cine Awards" and the "Zee Carnival", with top Bollywood stars.
"With so many Bollywood films being made in Bangkok, we're hopeful that Zee TV will gain a large presence here", said Anindo Aditya, CEO of the company.
