I am just frustrated. I was telling Raksh, I understand, they had to bring on new creatives, for whatever reason, but but did those creatives not have any responsibility to what the story line or characters were before it was handed to them? How hard is it to go back and do some homework, and just try to figure out what the story and characters are all about so that at the very least, you can keep the essence of the show intact! I mean, its crazy that stuff like this, this kind of laparvai is passable in India - it baffles me to think that i have never seen this kind of stuff happen EVER on primetime in any American TV show. So that means there must be something seriously wrong with the indian audience that just sits back and accepts it as 'bloopers' and turns a blind eye to it...either that or the Indian audience has just been fed the same nonsense for so long that theyve just come to accept it and no longer have a problem with it? Why is it exactly that we even put up with such crap that is dished out to us? If they dont' care about providing good entertainment, if its all just a game of TRPs, then why should we even give them the time of day? I mean, doesn't it just make logical sense that if its good, solid entertainment, that the TRPs will just follow? So why not stop playing the TRP game and just focus on a good story? I for one am tired of having to accept bloopers! And for what? Simly because the creatives dont' know how to do their jobs and create a good, gripping storyline? Then what the hell are they doing there to begin with? And Okay, I get it, she's the creative head of all the shows and so kekta's show are monotonous and mundane, but really....if she can't come up with something else, then why is she even a "creative"? Her job title is to "create" ...if she can't do that, then...whats the point?
Wow...I know I"m starting to sound harsh, but I really am very frustrated now....
No Payal u r not sounding harsh! U just wrote the bare truth that's all. Yes the Indian audience never had anything before these saas-bahu sagas came up & they just devoured it to no ends for these past years just for the sheer lack of quality shows. After all these years of being saturated to the optimum they have started reacting & is asking for something different & so we see this state of affairs in BT who was once a leading production house is now left only with 4 shows. In a way this shaking up of BT was required specially by channel like SP which they ruled, I sincerely hope Ekta wakes up & smells the coffee & realise that she is not the ruling queen of soaps anymore. Things have changed, masses have changed, demands & tastes have changed.....hope this realisation dawns on her quickly than I like to think. I know things have started stirring inside BT & for this reason we have lost Vikas Goopta & many others & so the remaining few r handed over the remains of the others that has left. As it is these people must be cowered down with their own projects & to top it if they r handed new shows obviously there is no time for homework but only a briefing which is not sufficient to know the intricate details of the backbone of the show & the characters. Thus what we receive is this haphazard shows with no consistencies. And if this continues then very soon the remaining few shows will also vanish from TV prime time which ought to teach Ekta a big big lesson! And yes they play the TRP games which is another reason for the quality we witness now. Sigh....really wish things will turn around soon but wishes to be formed into actions will take a lot of time & by that time I don't know how much of it all can be salvaged.
