Part 16a:

Vidya freezes. Her cheeks start turning a deep shade of red. Since both of them were facing the mirror, Sagar could clearly see her face and reactions. Sagar came closer to Vidya and looked in her eyes through the mirror. Vidya looked back at him and was about to rush to the door when Sagar grabbed her wrist. He was going to say something when Shalu called for Vidya. Startled, he let go of Vidya's wrist. Vidya quickly took advantage of the situation and ran away.

The next day, everyone wakes up and eats breakfast. Vidya, Shalu, and Riya leave for their jobs. Chinu goes to meet someone, but he tells Sagar that he's going to the store for something and will return in a few hours. Soon, it becomes 7:00 pm, almost 7 hours after Chinu left. Vidya, Shalu, and Riya hadn't come home yet. Sagar gets really worried and his head starts to hurt. He grabs his head and tries to find his medicine but couldn't since only Vidya knew where it was. But, since he is such a nice brother, he goes to find Chinu, without thinking about himself. About half an hour later, Sagar is crossing the road when the headlights of a fast car moving towards him blind him. He covers his eyes with the back of his hands and then…

Vidya gets a call just as she was packing up to go home. Shalu was on the other line. She told Vidya that Sagar got into an accident. Tears start welling up in her eyes. She quickly took a taxi and reached the hospital.

At the hospital:

Vidya is running through the halls of the hospital trying to find Sagar's room. Suddenly, Shalu spots her and takes her to where everyone else were. Vidya sees Chinu and Riya talking to the doctor. They complete their conversation. Right before the doctor leaves, Vidya attacks him with questions about Sagar. "What happened to him?" "Where is he?" "Is he alright?" "Can I see him?" Vidya goes on and on with the questions until the doctor interrupts her and tells her that Sagar is in a very critical condition and his chances of surviving are slim.
