No JS is actually doubting capability of ARR to compose hard core classical stuff in line of khayal/thumri or plain and simple ghazal without using idioms of sound, ARR is excellent at understanding the sounds and he uses it to make music big be it a song or background score of a movie, he uses extensive synthesizers, softwares to make a great impact, while this sounds impressive this may not be melodious all the time, melody is what S D Burman or Ilaya Raja's music was, if you visit the TFM homepage there is always a great war going between fans of IR and ARR regards who is better and oldies like us vote and fight for IR all the time. I agree in the current time ARR is one of the best but the overall quality has taken a nose dive.
Another thing there is no composer who doesn't pass his prime, you name one and I ;ll come with evidence, no one has remained at the top always.
ARR might understand all the sounds and know all the techniques, but i wonder if he can put together songs that have melody. Good in theory, low grade in practicals.đ
