Hi all creative pplz. I am JC

K here is my problem.

I've been very obsessed with figuring out how to merge a video avi and a JPEG image to make a sig for myself.

I use photoshop CS3 to make sigs and till recently i used to use JASC animation shop to make the video avis. However i dont have JASC anymore and a friend of mine recommended that i get Fireworks or Imageready. I searched high and low and could not get Imageready as apparently its discontinued after CS2. So i have to make do wiht Firework and now i need help figuring out how exactly to make a video avi with it??????????? Any help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think if i can figure out how to use Firework properly i can merge my photoshop image with the video avi with the effect that i want. Also Photoshop CS3 has the 3D and animation pallets that allow to work with video files directly without having to convert them to a GIF image.. tho its a tedious job.

What i want as end result is basically what my avi looks like right now except with better finish and using Photoshop and Fireworks.

Ok so any one willing to shed some light of knowlege here...

Hey Candy,

When I first tried out Vista, it gave me loads of problems with Movie Maker too. So I had to downgrade to the other version of WMM they were providing for Vista.

Basics upon how to create an avi w/ fireworks

(this is pretty much the same if you have used Image ready)

You create your snapshots of the vid avi that you want to use, and put it all under one seperate folder (make sure you've saved them in order, meaning the first frame is saved as 1, second as 2, third as 3 etc... or else ifyou save them out of order your vid avi will be awfully off)

open fireworks and go to the folder that you save them in... in the open dialouge box there should be 'open as animation' and make sure that is checked, then click open..

after that all frames should be put in place and you can begin to edit/resize do whatever to your vid avi

To make a vid siggy, its pretty much the same procedure..but rather fix your vid first then resize the canvas and add your image.. then you can move your vid about the image..

after all that make sure you 'save for web devices' or save as a .gif file

for settings, you just have to play around with them till you get a good one, there really isn't one setting you can put that'll work for all, its a bit different each time

and lastly,

make sure you have some extra time and do this when you're not in a rush and have patience

warning: in process of doing this, you might loose your temper, please refrain from throwing your computer out the window :P ;)

@little foot: make sure you actually install your fonts before opening them up on paintshop, sometimes that works...

^^np, hope it works out for you! and sorry i couldn't get u more info on fireworks im still trying to figure it out myself 🤔, but the optimization is much better there so you'll def have good results
