Tasneem Sheikh returns

Tasneem Sheikh aka Daljeet Chachi is back in Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil to boost the show's TRPs

Remember Tasneem Sheikh aka Daljeet Chachi from Ekta Kapoor's soap Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil (aired on Star Plus)? The actress whose track was apparently over in the show is being roped back in thanks to her character's tremendous popularity amongst the audiences.

Ekta confirmed the news and said, "My characters become very popular. Tasneem is a very good actress. She was always meant to come back after the contract issues got sorted out."

But according to the dialogue writer of the soap, Rekkha Modi, Tasneem's return is an asset to the show. She elaborated, "We were registering high TRPs when Tasneem was present on the show. On August 6 when she was about to leave the show, we registered the highest TRP of 5.03."

Tasneem is ecstatic that she is back. She said, "Everyone on the set is happy to see me again. This show has always been very special. I started shooting from last Tuesday. Balaji tried calling me a few times before this also but I was with my husband Sameer in London."

On the personal front too Tasneem has some great news to share; the actor is planning to start a family very soon.

Tasneem Sheikh is expecting her first baby in April 2009

It's official now. Tasneem Sheikh (Daljeet Chachi of Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil) is pregnant. Since nearly a year, there have been strong rumours that Tasneem was planning to start a family. "I don't know why the world wanted me to get pregnant as soon as I married Sameer (Nerurkar) in 2006; people were talking in hushed tones that I was expecting. But we always wanted a baby after two years and now finally it's happening," an overjoyed Tasneem said.

Tasneem is four months pregnant. The baby is due in April 2009. However, Tasneem has still not made up her mind if she would deliver in Mumbai or London (where Sameer has a house). "Let's see how it goes. We have yet to take a call on that."

On why she has finally shared the good news with us she said, "Well, I didn't want to admit it. But now I see that my tummy is showing. And why not tell Mumbai Mirror first?"

And how is she managing her hectic shootings of Kis Des Mein Hi Mera Dil in which she made a comeback only last week? "Ekta knows about my pregnancy. And she is taking utmost care of me. I have been given the special privilege of shooting for only six hours. I am well looked after on the sets too," said Tasneem.

Prem will return to save Heer in Kis Des...

There is good news for the viewers of Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil . Heer's Prem, played by Harshad Chopra, will soon be back in the show to save her as the damsel in distress will try to commit suicide.

Presently as per the track, Rishab Rampal who plays a negative character in the show has cunningly convinced Heer to go with him to Rajasthan. She shows trust in him and leaves for Rajasthan. It is there that she discovers that Rishab forcefully wants to get married to her and this is the main reason he has taken her faraway from her family, to Rajasthan. The marriage is all set to take place in a very grand way.

Prem is all set to enter the show in a proper filmy way. This sequence will have the back drop of a desert, where Heer, who is all alone, is busy thinking about how Rishab has betrayed her. Finally she decides to end her life by falling from a cliff and is then saved by her love, Prem who will make a dramatic return to save her and stand by her.

"When Heer realizes that Rishab has deceived her and he has gotten her there (Rajasthan) just to marry her, she tries to commit suicide and that is when Prem comes to save her" informs a source.

Prem's death in the Delhi bomb blasts was shown in the first week of October. His death shattered the whole family. Shaken by his stern and sudden demise, Heer actually took quite some time to believe that he was dead.

When contacted, Harshad Chopra preferred to remain tight lipped saying: "I haven't been told to talk about it officially."

His re-entry is estimated to be telecast next week.

Harshad Chopra's returns to Balaji

The young heartthrob of the small screen - Harshad Chopra, finally returned to Star Plus' 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil'. A few weeks ago, the show witnessed the death of the most cherished character - Prem, played by Harshad Chopra.

Harshad joined the Balaji camp with 'Kis Desh…' and captured the hearts of million of telly viewers all across the globe with his charm and charisma. With his track coming to an end, the show TRP ratings hit the rock bottom. The production house received millions of fan mails urging them to bring the actor back on the show.

A source from the production house confirmed, "Yes, Harshad is back in the show. He had not really left the show, he was shown on and off during the scenes. Nevertheless, with popular demand he is back for good."

Not letting the cat of the bag, all we know is that the track shall now focus on revealing Harshad's identity and unfolding more suspense drama.

This is the perfect treat for Harshad Chopra fans as Balaji's blue-eyed favorite returns to the tube.

The hunt for his baliye brought television heartthrob Harshad Chopda to Calcutta last Friday. Not the quest for a real-life baliye ("I'm still very much single," he grins ruefully), but a pair of dancing feet to match steps with him on the Nach Baliye stage. In yet another twist to the celebrity dance show, Harshad and his gleaned-from-the-audience dance partner will be the latest contenders for the Nach Baliye crown. t2 caught up with the engineer-turned- actor hours before the City Centre auditions?

Why be a part of Nach Baliye?

It's a popular show and definitely a very classy one because it invites participation from the best names in the television business. Since I am single, I couldn't participate in the main format of the show. However, Talaashe-baliye has given me the opportunity to realise my dream of being a Nach Baliye participant.

Does dance come naturally to you?

Since childhood, dance has been something that I haven't been good at and I have always nurtured the hope that one day I would be able to master the art. I have attended a lot of classes, I have observed many dancers and today I can say that I at least have a sense of rhythm and can move my body to the music!

What are you looking for in your Nach Baliye partner?

It will be a combination of factors like dance skills, stage presence and confidence. But to be honest, I really can't decide on the criteria sitting here. I will only know when the judging process starts.

With the show on air for more than a month, do you think you coming into Nach Baliye now is unfair to the other jodis?

I won't really be a threat to them because my partner and I won't be judged on the same parameters as them. And honestly, I am sure they knew about this twist in the show when they signed up for it. If they were fine with it then, I don't see any reason for them to raise any objections now.

Any favourites on the show so far?

Well there are a few but I wouldn't like to name anyone because it wouldn't be fair to the others.

You are doing a number of fiction serials as well as trying your hand at reality shows. How do you manage to strike a balance?

Since television is the only life I have, I manage to find time for everything that it offers, be it serials or reality shows. It is true that we often work 24 hours a day, but things are far easier for me now because my character in Kis Des Mein Hai Meraa Dil has been 'killed' and now I am just concentrating on Nach Baliye.

Any secrets to handling the sizeable female fan following that you have?

Where is the female fan following? I can't see even one! I dream of a day when I will step out of my car and get mobbed by lots and lots of girls. But that hasn't happened yet (laughs).

And finally, if you could choose any Bollywood actress as your baliye, who would it be?

Oh wow! But honestly, I don't think it's my choice at all. They will have to be okay with it! Maybe I'd go with Katrina Kaif. But wouldn't she be taller than me?

Promising Debuts of '08

2008 has proved to be lucky for all those who wanted to make it big on the small screen. We take a look at all those who have made a mark in the world of television with their very first performances in the year gone by.

Additi Gupta: Kis Des Mein's Heer blew away competition with her remarkable performance. A fashion designer in terms of qualification, this girl from Pune won hearts with her moving debut.

Gurmeet Chaudhary: This model hails from Madhya Pradesh. He made his debut in the form of Lord Rama in NDTV Imagine's Ramayan. Before this, he has done many south movies and small TV shows and some music videos as well.

Dhriti Bhatia: The small Krishna from Jai Shri Krishna has been the toast of Indian television. The 3 year old who plays a natkhat makhanchor in the show. This is her first show on the small screen for which active Dhriti got selected with her first audition itself.

Bharat Chawda: More popularly known as Kahaani's Ishaan, Bharat has rolled in a number of fans by his killer feat in the serial. Having done theatre earlier, Bharat was seen as a finalist in Zee Cinestars ki khoj. He was then offered Kahaani which was his first accomplishment followed by Tyohaar Dhamaka. Now the Kahaani guy is seen portraying the role of Abhimanyu in Kasturi.

Anjali Abrol: Anjali who is presently seen with her beau Kapil in Nach Baliye stepped into the world of television as the lead actress in Raja ki Aayegi Baraat this year. The Kashmiri girl has been doing quite well and has become the darling of the audiences.

Harshad Chopra - The New Chocolate Boy Of Indian Television

We first noticed him as Cadet Ali Beigh in Left Right Left and then as Prem Juneja of Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil he stole every one's heart. Yes I am talking about the new TV sensation- Harshad Chopra

Harshad was born on 19th May 1983 in a small place Gondia near Nagpur, Maharashtra. Then after completing his 12th he moved to Pune with his family where he did his computer engineering.
After completing his studies, Harshad moved to Mumbai where he auditioned for Zee's serial- Mamta and successfully got the role. In this serial, Harshad played a negative role. Though Harshad was not even noticed in the serial but his journey of becoming an actor actually started.

Then he got the hit serial Left Right Left where he played Cadet Ali Beigh and with this role Harshad captured the hearts of million of telly viewers all across the globe.

After LRL, Harshad did Sony's show- Amber Dhara where he was in main lead. But soon he left the show due to certain misunderstandings with the production house. And then he entered Ekta's camp with serial- Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil.

which has made lots of his female fans crazy.

As Prem Juneja in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil, Harshad became so close to his fans that when his track in the serial was put to an end, the makers got lots of online petitions and messages to bring Harshad back on the show. And on high public demand Harshad is made to re enter in the show very soon.

Apart from serials Harshad has also done a Bengali film. He has also done many ramp shows. He has also won the best smile title in Mr. India contest 2006. He was the first runner up in Mr. Pune 2004 competition where he also won the best physique award. In TV industry too he has won many awards for KDMHMD.

Nowadays Harshad is also a part of Nach Baliye 4 where he is finding a dance partner under the segment Talaash e Baliye. So, all his female fans have a good chance to be close to their favorite star.

New Twists and Turns in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil

Ekta's show Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil is again in news as the lead star of the show- Prem aka Harshad Chopra is back. This news has returned smile on the faces of all the KDMHMD fans. They were very sad to see their heroine alone. So now they can get the chance to see their favorite couple together again.
Few months back it was shown that Prem died in a bomb blast. But the face of the dead body was not shown so it was clear that all this was done to give some twist to the tale of Prem- Heer's love story and Prem will return on the show very soon.
Now regarding Prem's come back; the buzz is that he will be back when Heer will be marrying to Rishabh (the villain of the show) so as to save Prem's family from him and got their house back.
So now the question is whether Prem will save Heer from Rishabh or he will be the next Devdass of Ekta's camp like Robbie of Kasturi, Anurag of Kasauti etc.
There is no doubt that there are a lot of fans of this sweet couple who want to see them together again. But if Heer will be married to some one else it will be really a very heart- breaking news for them.
Apart from this many more twists and turns have been added like Prem's younger brother- Preet got married to Meher to save his father from humiliation as his elder brother Harman refused to marry her exactly on the occasion of wedding, Prem's sister Veera got married to Heer's brother Nihaal and the evil Chachi of Heer is back to turture the family again.
So, all in all these twists can give a long extension to the story. So be ready for another era of Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil.
