This debate was discussed in the last season. The contestants this time were very much aware that the same format is going to be followed this season too, so I don't think they should be cribbing about it now.
As far as the ethnicity goes, I don't know if there are any singing competitions in the other regions like North, South, etc.
And about easy entry into SRGMP, these contestants too have struggled to come into their respective regional shows. It certainly wasn't a cake walk for them.
