Whoops! Looks like I haven't updated in a while 😕 😆 j/k- I got wrapped up in some personal issues and I went on vacations but I didn't get internet 😆😊

Part 19

Vidya

"So, er, when are you going to come into the picture?" asked Radha on one rainy afternoon.

"What?" I looked up from the TV.

"I mean, didn't you say something about both of us pretending to be his secret admirers?" She was looking at the floor.

"Whose secret admirer?" I asked. What was Radha talking about? It felt as if I were missing out on something....

"You know," she said slowly, " his. "

I blinked and stared at her blankly. "His... who?"

She was still talking to the floor. "Sagar." She said quietly.

It took me a while to figure out what she was talking about. "Sagar?.... Oh! Oh my gosh!" I slapped my head and looked at Radha. Her gaze was still lowered.

"How could I forget?" It was true. I had completely lost track about our little mission for the last two days. And Radha didn't even mention anything about it, either. I was still in shock with my latest discovery of Sagar.

Radha was in a totally different world these days. She would often sit in front of the window and stare out at the sunset. Slowly, a smile would play across her face.

(Flashback)

"Radha, what are you thinking about?" I asked her one evening when she was by the window. Her new behavior was killing me.

" There is no remedy for love, but to love more ...." she whispered, her eyes watching the sky.

" What?! "

She jerked from her dreamy stupor. "Huh?"

I looked at her in befuddlement waiting for her to explain. My hands were on my hips and my right foot was tapping on the floor. She had just recited a quote from Sagar's and my favorite poet.

I held my palms up as if waiting for her to drop something into them and my forehead crumpled. "What did you just say?"

"What did I just say?" She looked at me innocently.

"I don't know. You tell me. Something about love?" I eyed her suspiciously.

"No I didn't. You must be hearing things, my dear." Her face flushed and she looked out the window again.

My dear? What was happening to her?

(End of Flashback)

I hadn't thought about turning into Sagar's second admirer for a while, but now that I thought about it, I wasn't so sure. Something didn't feel right. I knew Sagar was a good boy deep down. I mean really really deep down. So deep, you had to dig a well to find the goodness, but it was there.

I thought I would cut him some slack this time. "Actually Radha, I don't think I'll come in. We'll just leave it to one secret lover."

Radha's mouth twitched like she were fighting a smile. "But why Via?"

"I think one mystery girl is enough. It'll do us all some good. We'll be saved from some extra gagging and his," I said reluctantly, "emotions will be spared a bit."

Radha jumped up and pulled me into a bear hug. "Thank you so so so soooo much Vidya! I knew you didn't want to hurt his feelings and that you actually like him as a person."

"Whoa whoa, slow down there. Just because I don't want to hurt his feelings doesn't mean I like him. And may I ask why you're so excited?"

What was that on her cheeks? They looked red.... they were fine just now. Was I hallucinating again? Looks like it's time to visit the optometrist, Vidya. I said to myself.

She cleared her throat and turned back to her book.
