This is the downside of social media, people jumping with an opinion and not understanding what ranveer even did.

He was praising rishab shettys acting in kantara, thats all he was doing. He wasn't trying to mock anything. Even when ranveer praises deepika's acting in chennai express he mimcks the way she says 'thangabali' to praise her. When he praises any actor/actress he acts like them, he does it all the time.

And it seems ranveer really didnt know that it was a goddess, he called it a woman ghost because thats obviously what he thought it was. Do people think he is stupid to mock his own religion of hinduism? Or even mock rishab and his movie right in front of him? Ofcourse Ranveer wouldnt do that

But ofcourse, people are going to throw the most disgusting insults at ranveer even though his intention was just to praise rishab shetty, and then people question why ranveer isnt seen much nowadays, or why he isnt as full of energy, this is the reason

Rishab shetty is even laughing and smiling, ranveer praised rishab so nicely at the event, he praised rajnikanth, nawazudin siddiqui and so many others who were there, but yeh let's just focus on this one bit and troll the heck out of him

He was not mocking the deity ,he was making fun of the performance. Not ideal , but going by how goofy he is all the time it's not so bad. The voice lol. The mimicry was funny but wrong venue/occassion I guess. Even the tiger was spooked by that voice , in the original scene
