I was thinking at some point the grandmother would want to meet Aman but i'm now thinking the narrative is that she made peace with never seeing him again after that sale. Her only regret is that DK didn't know the truth and has lived his life with regrets. If DK had found out before approaching Aman he would never have approached him. They are sort of punishing themselves for a crime they did not commit. They feel they have no right to go and disrupt his life. He has lived longer as Vikrant than as the Aman they knew.
