Just my personal feelings:

To me, it is absolutely okay that India played the Asian Cup... why 'punish' the Indian cricket team for an enmity that comes from politics they have no influence in.

However, it should have been made clear before the tournament, that India would respect everything that deals with playing cricket (including the handshake after a match out of sportmanship) but would not accept a Pakistani politician doing sports-honours to them.

India deserved to get the cup and the medals... it is a big failure of the ACC to not make an official of the Emirates to do the honours when India won the tournament.

To each their own, but I personally find all the trolling by the Indian cricketers to be extremely distasteful. I’m so embarrassed by their behavior. They come across as arrogant bullies.

I really hope India never plays Pak again. I really don’t want a repeat of Asia Cup 2025.

SKY has fallen in my eyes. He is the reason (ofcourse with BCCI’s blessings) why this tournament got ruined so badly. He started it. And is still continuing his verbal diarrhea smiley11

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Naqvi left the global cricketing spectrum stunned when he decided to take the Asia Cup 2025 trophy back to his hotel room, following Team India's refusal to accept it from his hands on Sunday. Naqvi was present at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium for the India vs Pakistan final. He even stepped onto the presentation stage after the Indians beat Pakistan by five wickets, but then left the ceremony and walked out of the stadium after India reiterated their stance of collecting the trophy from a 'neutral' official.

It's been two days since the conclusion of the final, and there's no concrete update on when and how the trophy and winners' medals will be delivered to the Indian team, which has already returned home. A report in Cricbuzz, however, has claimed that Naqvi, who is also a political figure in Pakistan, has sent a condition to return the trophy and medals to the Indian team.

The report claims that Naqvi has informed the organisers that Suryakumar Yadav and his men would receive their medals only if a formal function was arranged, where he would be given the opportunity to hand over the trophy and medals to them.??!!

Let us hope that the trophy and the medals will be returned to India as soon as possible.

I don’t think ACC is legally allowed to withhold medals and trophy like that. I’m pretty sure they’ll send it to BCCI headquarters soon.

Moving forward, in multi national events, they should just put India and Pak in different groups.

Despite everything that happened this year, what nerve to put both countries in the same group hoping and wishing they will play 3 times. It’s all about the money.

If this news is correct, then NO, absolutely no to accept this insulting and ego-driven proposition. Using a sports event to impose political agendas should be rejected - from India's side and from the world's side...

The Indian team won the Asian Cup 2025 - with or without trophy and medals. (Using the very clear opinios I watched in TBOB, I would say "F**k you, you a**hole)

I'm one of those persons who strictly are against to make art and sport a means to politics.

any piece of art is inherently political, it's a means of expression and agency, hence deeply entrenched in politics at least at personal level. Artists choose to express things in a certain way.

But yeah, sports and politics shouldn't be used as means for one another..
