Pitch report: Just gets easier to bat in the second innings, nothing to do about the surface. It's about the weather. Both captains said they wanted to field first. It has played pretty good throughout the tournament. We have seen scores of 150-160. As the ball gets older, it does grip. Matches have been played here for almost 8-10 days here and it will assist spin. You got to get used to the conditions when you are batting first. Give yourself that extra bit of time to get used to the pace and bounce. Same nature of pitch for Sri Lanka v Bangladesh and 160 wasn't enough. If Pakistan want to make India sweat it will have to be in excess of 180-200 and that's not going to be easy - opine Sanjay Manjrekar and Ravi Shastri

Not even a mention of Pakistan teams behavior during practise saying 6-0 They should be banned and let’s hope they lose badly again without any handshakes. Don’t expect more than 20-30 pages here as you all keep trying to separate politics from sport with a terrorist nation

So India bringing back Bumrah and Varun for extra spice in the bowling. It's a spin-heavy attack like the last game they played against Pakistan. Their opponents meanwhile have brought in Hussain Talat in hope of better stability with the bat. Batting in general is expected to be tougher in the first innings so Pakistan need to turn up determined to make this game more interesting.

BT: India should not have dropped Arshdeep. Having a pacer to support Bumrah in the death overs is important to prevent leaking runs -- What about extra spin then on a slowish pitch?

Pralay: @BT That is a very valid point, but who would you replace for him, Bumrah, or Kuldeep or Varun, all top notch bowlers. It is the same situation for Rinku as well, good but no place

MAB: "I guess a bad move by Pakistan to drop Saim to one down. So what if Fakhar and Farhan perform today? Will they move a natural opener to one down forever?"
