Oman have given a great account for themselves here against the reigning world champions. They fall short by 21 runs and the target always looked too stiff, but Oman have stepped up and competed toe to toe against one of the behemoths of world cricket. The Oman openers put together a stand of 56 runs, as they played out the powerplay. Jatinder Singh chopped one back onto his stumps against Kuldeep, and many expected the floodgates to open but Aamir Kaleem and Hammad Mirza had different plans. Both batters got fifties and added a 93-run partneship for the second wicket. Both set batters fell towards the end, and India had enough of experience and application to see this match through.

Sadly India didnt took this match seriously and thought of it as practice game hence gave everyone chance in batting or bowling.

Yes SKY didn't come to bat, even after 8 wickets down

Balling they allowed everyone

Not sure what to make of that run-chase. Oman, for a long time, seemed content to bide their time and keep wickets intact. Towards the end, courtesy Kaleem and Mirza, they gave it a rattle but that would have only made their fans wonder if they could have pressed on the accelerator a little sooner and put India under a bit more pressure. That said, this was an encouraging display with the bat and Oman will be better for this experience.

As for India, well, for much of the second innings, it felt they were going through the paces. They tried a few different things, including using eight different bowlers, but almost all of them lacked the penetration India showed against Pakistan and the UAE. In the end, though, they got the job done and now that this is out of the way, they will have their eyes firmly set on the Super Four, and on the clash against Pakistan on Sunday.

Stick around for the presentations.
