The trophy being set up near the pitch, perhaps for the toss. It wasn't there for the India v UAE match," notes Pratyush. "While other players are warming up, Kuldeep is having a special catching session with T Dilip," he adds.

Over the last year since that clash in the T20 World Cup, so much has changed for both the teams. New coaches have come in, there's been an influx of new players while some of the heavyweights of the game have gone away. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20Is, while Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam don't find a place in the squad any more. We now have the tantalising prospect of Abhishek Sharma going up against Shaheen Afridi with the new ball. Then there's the possible match-up between Suryakumar Yadav and Abrar Ahmed. There is Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav against Pakistan's middle-order. Take your pick.

Salman Agha: Going to bat first. We've been playing good cricket, very excited. Looks like a slow wicket. Just want to bat first and put runs on the board. Same side.

Pakistan have won the toss and have opted to bat

Pakistan have won the toss and will bat first. Agha says the team has been playing good cricket and notes that the surface looks on the slower side. They want to put a par-plus total. Same teamand he insists they need a lot of spin on these conditions. So no Haris

Suryakumar Yadav: We were looking to bowl first, happy with it. We played just one strip away, was a nice wicket and better to bat on in the night. It's humid so hoping for some dew. Same team.

Suryakumar Yadav wanted to bowl so he's not fussed. He adds that the preparations for the game were good, which is important for him. He adds that they played on the adjacent pitch in the previous match (against UAE) and it was good for batting, got better under lights. India are playing the same team as well
