I got a $140,000 job offer to work for a Japanese manufacturing company in my local area as a controller today. I can't say no.

What would you do?

Gaurav, it doesn't matter what someone else would do, right? If you can't say no, then you'll do it, I suppose...or are there some inconveniences attatched to the job you're against?

Humans need both - individualism and the feeling of togetherness, of shared identity. It always had been like this. The communication tools in today times just give us more options to mask the feeling of being alone in a crowd or being a 'quasi outsider' that often goes hand-in-hand with the expression of individualism. I don't think that it is the wish for individualism as such that is the crux but a trend to avoid personal interaction which is much more complicated and demanding than just hiding behind a screen. Often, one isn't 'forced' anymore to confront interhuman problems and to 'feel' others.

everyone is busy with smartphones, posting on social media. If someone enjoys being alone, its a good thing. but it might be tough love for people who love being around people, they will feel lonely. today's social structure is like that, nobody has time for others anymore. Dare I say, nobody has good intention for others anymore. Everything has turned into a competition and facade even cruelty, therefore creating more loneliness. See the recent news of crimes, those are so brutal and merciless. no wonder there are so many people suffering from depression etc. its a win-win for psychiatrists.

I agree. The world has become a cold, cruel place.
