Refreshing that a YRF love story this time revives the boxoffice (= moviegoers) ...two years ago it had been an YRF action movie. I wonder if now a string of 'tragic' love stories (albeit with a 'happy' ending) will get produced
Movie has been watched. First half was good with the leads really carrying it with full confidence and wonderful music…. After a long time I had a smile on my face for the entire time watching a romantic movie. I didn’t even realize where time went. It was that good. The music, the leads, the story and everything made me feel like I am finally getting to watch a good movie.
However little did I know that that’s were the good things ended..Because at the intermission everything comes to a crash stop and the movie forcibly shifts gears. So much that it felt like they mistakenly exchanged with some other movie. It starts dragging with the painfully slow screenplay, bad editing, repetitive dialogues and scenes and more importantly absolutely illogical and ridiculous scenarios. Long story short, the movie literally falls flat on its face in the second half.
As for the performances, both the leads were pleasant to look at and have excellent chemistry with each other. Supporting cast was reduced to the background ( one of the major issues with the movie) for the most part so it’s basically the two leads and music running the movie. Aneet Pedda is such a refreshingly beautiful face in the world crowded with Botox filled and plastic surgeon manufactured fake looking actresses. Plus point is she seems to be a good actor too more importantly with good dialogue delivery and has the screen presence to carry a movie like this on her own. Hope she doesn’t get snubbed and gets more opportunities to shine. Ahaan Pandey has an amazing and irrefutable screen presence which carries not only him but the movie itself, despite all the flaws. Though he needs to work on his diction and dialogue delivery, he is definitely here to stay and an actor to watch out for especially since he has no competition atp at least.

Perfect summarization the second half is a big let down
I rather have the men of our country get inspired by love than a movie like Animal and make it a sorry excuse to be violent towards women around them.
Another opinion of mine, I thought aneet was better than ahaan. Her character was alot more complex and difficult than ahaans and she did a good job.
aneet and ahaan are not amazing actors, but they did a good job with their characters, especially as its their debut and we have seen much weaker debut performances from other recent debut actors/actresses. So they did better than what we were expecting i guess.
Plus it helps that aneet and ahaan are playing young urban characters as they are both young urban people, what we'll have to see is how they do with characters that are alot different to themselves and also in a different genre
In terms of other debutants, I think junaid Khan did really well in loveyappa, and honestly the film was good, but I guess the film didn't click with the wider audience
I watched a Mohit Suri interview and he admitted that he did not like Ahaan's auditions and did not want him. He finally gave in( Adi Chopra and Shanoo Sharma's insistence is my guess).
Whereas in Aneet's case, he said her auditions were impressive. He also said she had auditioned for Anurag Basu and a couple of other directors as well and Mohit had heard that she is good. I feel Aneet might have auditioned for the Kartik Anurag film.
There is no retirement in this field do you realise that.Originally posted by: myviewprem
audience is fed up seeing 3 khans akshay and ajay devgan from 35 years as heroes
Amir khan debuted in 1986 means 40 years almost
While heroines than like madhuri, juhi, manisha, meenakshi, karishma all retired long back in 1990s or early 2000s these male actors are still acting at 60 years as hero
Its time newer heroes and super stars emerge
Even ranbir and ranveer is 40 plus years
Good that ahan pandey has had a hit movie
Now is time someone like srk son aryan khan or bobby deol son(aryaman) or govinda son debut or any outsider good at craft debut in bollywood in next few years
We need 4 to 5 new stars or super stars in bollywood to revive it
Like Telugu industry has ntr, vijay deverkonda and tamil has karthi, ravi mohan, jiva etc and Kannada has yash, rakshith shetty, Rishabh shetty(charlie movie fame and rashimka first movie) etc all below 40 years its high time even bollywood has 25 to 40 year olds as super stars and stars acting as hero than 50 to 70 years old like srk, amir, salman, akshay etc
When heroines are all 20 to 40 year olds mostly why hero is all 50 plus to 70 years old (sunny deol)
Every actor/ actress of any gen is there to fend for themselves right from the start of their careers they are not interlinked to those actors/actresses. If those actress retired why should thier male counterparts follow suit.
Amitabh Bachchan still does lead roles.
Tamil - Kamal and Rajni are still playing leads
Malayalam - The two M's are still playing leads
All these actors are a decade older to the bunch of actors you have mentioned.
@bold: Those are not superstars except Yash and NTR.
First decide for yourself does the industry need superstars to revive it or not.
Industry doesn't need superstars to revive it, it needs writers and directors to revive it.

Forget Dhurandhar and the breathless declaration of it being “historic” purely because of box-office numbers and time-tested, loud Hindi-cinema...
They say one rotten apple can spoil the lot, but Saiyaara proved the opposite. In an industry saturated with remakes, safe bets, and that...
