Well long hair is harder for guys to maintain cause they aren't used to it.

But I am loving the rugged look he is having here. His all the characters have had crisp looks till now. Actually in ITV, rarely someone dares to go in a rough look direction. Even for Shivangi's look, it is so different and fres for ITV. Feels like EK is in mood for breaking barriers with this show. But keeping a low expectation so that I don't feel bad if she messed it up later.
