He didn't took wrong methods to reach the posittion, he used to do administrative jobs (Desk jobs) rather than ground level jobs (like investigation, encounters etc).

May be Barbosa have a Boss. It is not fully confirmed in the Season 1 that Barbosa is the leader of EYE Gang. When he was arrested first, he was saved by his Gang who attacked a Police Station. Next time, when he was arrested, he escaped by putting a lookalike of him in front of the CID.

By the end they better give an explanation on how Barboza carried out those things....how there were so many Barbozas and how he survived the Bomb blast

Does anyone notice one thing in the episode, there were three fake Robbers: One is Daya, other is Sachin, one more is there.

Who will be that?
