As you said, there's a chance Mannat could hear from Shruti or Harneet that by the time Shruti reached the seaside, there was a little boy by her side guarding her from the wrath of that stormy night. Then maybe, Mannat could share it to Vikrant in between one of their usual conversations.

I remember in an earlier episode shruti mentioned that there was a nanha baccha who looked after and kept the baby safe until she arrived. I don't remember who she was talking to though.
