I always correlated Param's character Neil with a soft, alluring melody that's played at a distance, in the background and you can only hear it when you listen carefully. In pin drop silence and when you are fully engrossed. And then you can't forget the melody ever. You keep humming it every second, like constant music in life. Just like Neil fell for Tejaswini's voice, Neil was supposed to be this soft melody for Tejaswini. I wanted her to notice him in the crowd, in the noise and acknowledge him just like he did. We saw a glimpse of this when she went searching for Neil's voice in Trimbakeshwar. She could hear him amidst the crowd and the noise. I wrote in one of my earlier posts, that Neil is Tejaswini's second yet last choice and once she hears him calling out her, she'll never look at anyone else.

Today's episode showed his desire to fulfill all that he can for Tejaswini. Her wishes mattered the most to him, and he said that clearly to her. He could wait for her till eternity, that was his patience, shown when he accepted Tejaswini's past with Ruturaj. Such repressed passions, good Lord! That's what made his character endearing and perfect for Tejaswini, who individually was truly a spark. She reacted the way a woman with agency and dignity would do. On reflection, both the characters completed each other with their personality. Aparajita flowers are blue in colour and Neel means blue. They are coloured with each other's existence.

He would have learnt to have a voice because of Tejaswini, and she would have heard his silent love. He would have transformed into a confident, assertive person, and she would have understood that still waters run deep and all that glitters is not gold. That diamonds don't shine when found in a quarry, until they are polished and worn as a part of us.

Honestly, I feel music could have played an extremely important role in this story. It could have been used as symbolism, as motifs for their love. It's art that made them meet each other. Lord Shiva is a patron of arts. Goddess Parvati is a woman with her own voice. If we ignore the irreversible butchering that makers have done, Neil's character could have been actually compared to the light in Tejaswini's path to achieve her dreams.

But alas, all this is just black letters typed on a white screen. The makers can change Neil's character into a typical manchild for ratings and money, but I am content with the fact that he as a person never changed while being with Tejaswini. The character they show after TejNeil will be a different Neil, not the Neil who called his love Aparajita. For me, Neil will never forget Tejaswini even if she is far from him, as she healed him, made him sing when he couldn't bring himself to sing. Aparajita's Neil will always be the silent, gentle, understanding and yet the alluring one.

Woww what a poetic post!! I loved reading the descriptions and the part I have highlighted reminds me of this other show which is to date the only show I got emotionally invested as an adult. It was called Kaatelal & Sons (funnily, Mothi Aai and Kakasaheb on either side of Teju's family were the parents in that one) - loosely inspired from a true story where a couple of girls disguised themselves as boys to work in a men's saloon. In the show, they changed one of the girl's character arcs from a fearless, do-it-yourself, the total opposite of a damsel-in-distress, into a typical FL who waits for her husband to stand up to her bullies. It literally felt like the girl we had loved died. It will be the same for Neil if the story takes the turn we are suspecting.

Thank you! smiley27

Oh yes! Kaatelal and Sons aired on Sony SAB a few years ago. I saw a few episodes of it on YouTube and was impressed that they actually had female leads who can speak out loud and clear, without screeching for once. I didn't follow it further though.

True. Neil will be truly a different character, a new character and not the one we have seen with Tejaswini, if his characterisation is butchered by the makers.

Thank you. See, I might sound a bit harsh, like I'm dragging the new cast, but honestly, there's no personal hate here. It's just that this gen hasn't been clicking from Day 1 — and no, it's not the slot, or even purely ipl's fault. It’s more about the way the story is executed, maybe how the characters are written, or even how the acting is coming across — something just isn’t clicking with the main target audience.

The original viewers had already moved on once Sai and Virat’s journey ended. With Savi becoming an officer, the legacy of Sairat concluded as well. When the new cast was introduced, the audience was left confused. For instance, my mother stopped watching the show right after Saraj’s final episode because she don't like the new fl. All I’m saying is, if they had just picked a better script instead of starting fresh with an entirely new family, things might’ve been different. Like, nvm — they had Omi Chavan and people still couldn’t connect. So honestly, it wouldn’t have mattered; not even Ayesha could've saved the show at this point.

Real talk: they shouldn’t have brought Savi back at all. It just made her look like a clown — third husband, a kid, and another love story? There's barely any scope for a married woman with a child to pull off a "third-time’s-the-charm" romance arc in itv.

I think it's not harsh as long as we are stating facts without being disrespectful towards the actors or any fans. smiley1

It is a fact and I agree completely.

You see, TV is declining. We might question the TRP aunties' choice but the fact is post-COVID with the introduction of different online platforms now even aunties are slowly shifting to online content.

Hence it's absurd to expect a radical spike in the TRP no matter what they do.

IMHO, Ghum S1 itself wasn't that good. I have watched Kusum Dola and Ghum S1 feels nothing before it. In fact, KD was a lot more progressive as with time, Rono's family members changed their orthodox outlook and chose Emon over Rono, genuinely. Whereas in Ghum we had our Zillat Arena. But it worked. Because it aired just around the time COVID hit and people watched it.

If it was aired today, I don't think it would have fetched so much TRP.

And that remained constant. With time, the makers did more and more kabara, fans left and they took a leap. TRP declined in comparison to S1 but S2 was still topping in the TRP chart so there wasn't much fuss.

However, I remember the discussion around that time and fans were pretty conflicted as Reeva wasn't a typical vamp. She was a nice person. Ishan was more of a mentor and people felt sad for Savi.

Perhaps that's why S2.5 survived for quite some time because it was still centered around Savi.

I think the biggest blunder they have made is that they introduced S3 out of the blue. If they showed some sort of connection to establish the characters first, audience would at least be aware of them.

As rightly pointed out by some members, a huge chunk of general people don't even know this season exists. For them Ghum ended with SaRaj. So this season is meeting the same fate as any new show that is getting launched today - a lower TRP.

Then with the horrible writing and constant changing of slots, channel did even more damage.

So whatever might be the reason, this season failed and that's a fact.

I'm not sure whether Bhavika's return will do any good or not.

For my own sanity I'll consider the last episode of SaiSaRaj together was the end of Savi because now they're just making a weird khichdi - that's all.

Can't blame Bhavika for taking up a show because actors need money too.

I simply feel sorry for Vaibhabhi because she has been made the scapegoat, that's it.

I hope she gets better in future and gets a really good show to help her with her career.

I really liked kaatelal and sons . I used to watch it daily when it was on air. I really liked the jodi of susheela and pramod. But in that show also they did not end up together. That was really heartbreaking for me

Now we see a different neil who will be totally different to the neil tejaswini knows
