Pitch report: The dimensions first, 67m and 63m square boundaries, the straight hit is at 73m. It's pitch number 5 in use today, there's a nice strong breeze going along, so that shorter boundary will feel a bit bigger. Even covering of grass, should be good pace and bounce on offer for the pacers. A few bare pitches, it's a hot day and the pitch looks dry. The par score here is 185 and the team getting there should be able to win, reckon Shane Watson and Simon Katich, in their pitch report.

First things, first. Will Sanju Samson play? The RR captain had sustained an abdominal strain during their DC clash on April 16. He was forced to retire hurt after scoring 31 off 19 balls, and RR eventually lost the match in a Super Over. The news trickling is that Samson is set to miss this LSG clash. Riyan Parag, who had captained the side in RR's first three games of the tournament is likely to lead the side, again.

What about LSG? They started the season without Akash Deep, Mayank Yadav, and Avesh Khan, and lost Mohsin Khan. Has to be said, they have held their own quite brilliantly. After seven games, they have won four and lost three and a win will take them to ten points. Now, they have their main man Mayank Yadav fit and back ans almost a full-strength side to choose from. It didn't seem that way when the season started, but LSG now have a solid chance to make it to the playoffs.

Mahesh: "RR needs to click as a team, Butler's loss has been the biggest regret for them and it is reflecting in their batting approach"

Right, it is official. No Sanju Samson for this game. Riyan Parag is out for the toss. RR captain Riyan Parag has the coin. LSG captain Rishabh Pant calls tails and it is a tail. LSG will bat first in Jaipur.

Lucknow Super Giants have won the toss and have opted to bat

Rishabh Pant: We're going to bat first, wicket is looking dry so we want to take advantage. No dew so why not bat first. General thought process was to take the positives. We are lacking in small areas, want to improve on those and take the game forward. Was good to get back into form and contribute. I was not worried about, knew it was round the corner. Sometimes it takes time and I got time in the last game. Prince comes in for Akash Deep.

There was a little funny moment at the toss, Parag flipped the coin but Pant didn't call. They had to toss it again, Pant called tails and got it right.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, at 14 days and 23 days old, becomes the youngest player to play in the IPL

Riyan Parag: We were looking to bowl, it is a little bit warm under lights, should be better than the last time. Vaibhav the youngster comes in. It's been kinda tricky, we've been doing small bits right but we haven't been able to put a collective performance together, we've been having honest chats as a team. We love playing here, we know the conditions well, hope we can put that to good use.
