This is the second time DC have scored 200-plus without a single individual 50-plus score in the IPL, after 207/8 vs RR in Mumbai (WS) in 2022.

@Bold, that shows it is truly a team effort.

Cheers..

R Sai Kishore does really well to concede just nine runs off that 20th over, all things considered, but in an innings that saw some questionable decisions from both sides, tactically speaking, Delhi Capitals have managed to get to 203 for 8. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers, with a four-wicket haul including the big ones of KL Rahul, Axar Patel and Karun Nair. Ishant Sharma was economical, while Siraj also bowled a good second spell. For DC, it was a case of batters getting starts but not able to carry on to post a big score, which may have cost them 20-odd runs. Rahul at the top of the innings, Stubbs in the middle, and Ashutosh at the death provided them the momentum they needed, while Axar was the one holding it together. The encouraging fact for Delhi Capitals?

They have never lost a game defending 200+ in the IPL.

Prasidh Krishna: The wicket was nice to bat on. The pace of the wicket was very easy for the batter to get used to. Was tough for us to turn up as bowlers. Fielding didn't really help in those conditions. We have restricted them to a decent score. Looking to hit the length. Tried to use the pitch a little more. Worked out for me today. Anything in length was going for runs. Backed my yorker today and it came out well. It was really really hot. The intensity and pressure in a game is very hard to handle in such conditions. Sai finished off really well. Credit to Ishant. He bowled dots and kept the lid on the runs.

A spinner introduced for the first time in the 20th over in IPL (1st inns)

2/3 - Sanath Jayasuriya (MI) vs RR, Durban, 2009

0/14 - Rohit Sharma (Deccan Chargers) vs MI, Mumbai DYP, 2010

1/9 - R Sai Kishore (GT) vs DC, Ahmedabad, 2025

*In the second instance, Rohit Sharma came in to bowl after Jaskaran Singh had bowled two consecutive waist-high no-balls. The over went for 20 runs.

Did You Know? DC are one of the only two teams in IPL history who have never lost a game defending a 200-plus total in the IPL (13 wins in as many games before today). MI have won 15 out of 15 defending 200-plus scores.

GT Innings

1.4 Mukesh Kumar to Gill, OUT

Mix-up and Gill is out of here! A very poor judgement call and it proves to be the end of the GT captain's stay in the middle. It is a length ball on off and middle, he clips it straight to midwicket and rushes for a single. Sai Sudharsan spotted Nair get to the ball and didn't rush. Nair had all the time in the world to nail the direct hit at the striker's end. Massive wicket

Shubman Gill run out (Nair) 7 (5b 1x4 0x6) SR: 140

The last instance of Gill being runout in a T20 game was in the IPL 2022 Qualifier 1 against RR at the Eden Gardens
