There is still a masterclass next week which home cooks are also there. I recognize priyanka and Swarna from MCI season 7 and some other lady. So there’s going to competiton between home cooks and celebrity cooks.

I remember the other girl, but can’t remember her name now. All I remember is I didn’t like her in her season.

Here is my opinion on the contestants dishes in the final.

Rajiv - Both his dishes had Gujarat flavours. One is thepla pani puri and other is a cup cake kinda thing. Surprisingly his starter was better as desserts has been his core strength. His dessert is too sweet. I somewhat agree with Farah Khan that maybe pani puri isnt an ideal final dish but he tried to make the elemenrs different. Being 5th/4th is justified, I think his ideas could have been better and the plating wasn’t his best either.

Faisu - I am surprised he ended up 4th/5th. I said this before I m still saying it. The thing is I can’t recall either his Haleem nor his coconut dessert getting a negative feedback. He got really good comments. He deserved the Top 3 place instead of Teja tbh. His plating was good in his second dish, but i found the chocolate decoration a bit creepy (i love chocolates though). I think Faisu has been clearly robbed. Sanjeev Kapoor gave his style of spoon tap (Lo Karlo Baat) to Faisu’s Haleem and Gaurav’s dessert only!

Teja - Tbh I loved her ideas. This is the reason why I rooted for her intially (but then I became neutral cause of the bias). But I felt her execution wasn’t that great in terms of taste. Farah Khan especially criticized something in both her dishes that’s why I am surprised she became 3rd. Even Rajiv had less negative comments than her. From the comments I thought she will be 5th. Her first dish the crystal bread was bold but it didnt work out in taste and plating. Her 2nd dish looked pretty, but then again had issues with taste.

Nikki - Her first dish was really good. I think this was her best plating throughout the season. As always the taste of her food got praised. However, her second dish, I didn’t like the plating. It did not look visually appealing at all, it did seem delicious though. I think she came this far cause of her flavours but lacked innovation. Irony she said she always innovated. Based on today dishes, yeah she deserves Top 3, but for 2nd it’s kinda close between her and Faisu.

Gaurav - I think he saved his best week of the finals. Nah he did not miss a hattrick. He achieved it. Hattrick of brilliant desserts. I loved his dessert, a good color contrast and the ice-cream shape and color was different too. As for his main course that he served earlier, he did what he wanted that is to represent veg food well. Even Chef Ranveer was licking his fingers I still think first dish Nikki’s was slightly better, but second dish settled it all and Gaurav came clearly ahead. Deserving winner for sure!

As for the judges I feel they were sugarcoating their comments since it was the finals. Farah was the most straightforward and criticized the most, and Vikas too criticized a little. Ranveer did not say a single negative comment(I used to think he was the most strict but in this stage he is the most lenient) Sanjeev Kapoor I understand since he was a guest.

The Ranking I feel should have been like this based on judges comment:

5th - Teja

4th - Rajiv

3rd - Nikki

2nd - Faisu

1st - Gaurav

I cant express how much i agree with you. I resonate with each and every word of yours. Nikki and faizu based on their finale dishes and comments theh got seemed to be very close. But still somwhat we know that Faizu deserved it more. I liked Farah in these episodes and she felt me the most honest. I wonder why don't vikas speak properly and ranveer instead speaks the double. If only they could have do away with their popularity level based decision It would have been a fair treat for all of us

My final review for this season.

Starting with the first course -

Faisu - his plating seemed simple but good. It was very inviting. Reminded me of a fancy version of a puff pastry.

Rajiv - I agree with Farah that serving pani puri for the finale was odd, but it wasn’t a pani puri! Out of all the dishes his is the first I’d be inclined to try. Although khichdi and kadhi doesn’t sound appetizing to me the judges liked it.

Nikki - this was definitely her best looking plate. The concept of the dish sounded good and the judges liked it.

Teja - her crystal bread looked amazing. Her sauce and pickle were played well. I agree she should’ve chosen a darker plate for the bread to stand out. That was clearly the most interesting part of her plate. Judges praised the dish and fish.

Gaurav - I felt a little let down with the plating and dish in general. It reminded me of Usha tai. I get it that it’s hard to plate something like that, but after such amazing stuff he’s done, this felt like a let down. Thankfully his flavors were on point and the judges praised it.

Second course:

Rajiv - he made a cake with basundi and shrikhand. I love basundi so I’d like his dish. He wanted to represent his roots - Gujarat in the finale and I think he did well. The judges found some element in his dish too sweet.

Faisu - I was surprised to see his dessert. Coconut mousse with an orange caramel center, strawberry gel, and some other elements. Again his plate was simple but nice. Maybe his honeycomb would’ve completed his plating better. Overall the judges liked his dish.

Nikki - she’s the only one who made savory for her second course as well. She made a khandeshi mutton with rice noodles. I don’t understand why they went ga ga over rice noodles, other contestants have also changed roti and bhakri into newer forms. Her dish seemed like one of the many she has made but the judges liked it.

Gaurav - he made a black sesame ice cream to emulate til and gud Ki gajak. He had a cake soaked in some chilli salsa, a crumble, a mango salsa and I think paan leaves in the ice cream. He had a chocolate decoration and his signature on the plate. It was a nice plating, but again seemed repetitive. The judges loved every element of his dish.

Teja - she made a Swiss roll with some sauce served like a black swan made with chocolate and a berry sorbet. While it was pretty, I just wish the filling was a lighter colour for the chocolate swan to stand out more. Sanjeev Kapoor felt it was too much chocolate, Ranveer thought there was too much sorbet.

I felt bad for Faisu, both his dishes were good yet he didn’t make it to the top 3.

Loved the way he lifted Gaurav as soon as he was declared winner. Not a moment of self pity, shows what a wonderful person he is. Rajiv was also thrilled at Gaurav’s victory. Nikki was rather upset from the moment she was announced first runner up.

Very happy for Gaurav, truly well deserved. I pray that good things happen for Rajiv and Faisu. They’ve come across as pure souls.

They almost didn’t show Hussain today :(

Yes the moment of faizu witb Gaurav was the best for me in the whole episode. I think hussain left earlier and he was not present during 2nd tasting.

Teja too seemed happy for Gaurav though they showed only a little of herd after the declaration.

I too heard Nikii. I think hussain had already left by then and so there was literally no one for him to cheer. So they all including Nikki decided to cheer for him and felt it was the loudest one done for any of them.

While of course this doesn’t surprise me, just thought you’ll would like to watch it too

in fact, from what I’ve heard, they’re told what the next few challenges may be - so they get a list of say 4-5 things and 1-2 of them will be the next challenges.

ranveer had an absolute foot in mouth moment when he absolutely went bonkers over tejas dessert and the combo - oh kokum with choco is just a brilliant taste and farah literally said no its not working for me and vikas, his expression then and there was hilarious like 🫠🫠. Two minutes of farah speaking about it and ranveer just had a what just happened moment. I know food and taste is subjective but I bursted out laughing in that section of feedback. 🤣 ranveer needs to chill and not give ott cringe feedback to his favs. Other one was gauravs dessert early this week , I get it , it was brilliant but stop with the ott ness, it then screams fake and irritating. Ffs its food.

Ranveer brar was out of words after hearing farah's feedback He was thinking yeh mere script ke against hai.

Gaurav's dish was surely not the best as per finale standards. He has won overall journey wise so good for him. Nikki and Teja were favored since the start of the season. Gaurav got favored only in last few weeks. Faisu's dish was good too. It was fair enough for either gaurav or faisu to win it.
