SRH's bowling frailities have also been exposed. They have been the worst bowling unit this season, ranked 10th in terms of economy rate (10.83) and average (41.15). In their most recent defeat, on a surface where the ball was stopping and gripping, the SRH bowlers failed to make the most of the conditions and allowed KKR to run away to an above-par score of 200, of which they conceded 78 in the slog-overs alone. SRH's death-overs economy of 15.04 is the worst among 10 teams in the competition, and more often than not putting excess pressure on an already misfiring batting unit.

In that respect, the Titans are only marginally better with the last-five overs ER of 12.73. But their formidable batting has papered over those cracks, for now at least. Even in the 11-run loss against PBKS in their tournament opener, Titans ran them very close in a massive chase of 244. The turnaround since then has seen them stack up 196 and successfuly defend it against Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad, followed by a much more convincing eight-wicket win against RCB in Bengaluru while chasing 170. In batting-friendly climes of Hyderabad, this could well be the differentiator on Sunday.

Thanks wild🐧

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the 19th clash of IPL 2025. The low-lying Sunrisers Hyderabad will lock horns with the high-flying Gujarat Titans in Hyderabad today. Having lost three games on the bounce and that too with heavy margins, SRH find themselves languishing at the bottom of the points table with a terrible net run rate of -1.612, while the Titans are placed third in the points table. A big win today can possibly take the Titans to the top of the points table. The top-order of the Titans has fired so far, meanwhile, the Sunrisers have struggled to get going after their first game of the season. Skipper Pat Cummins' leadership has been ordindary and his performances with the ball haven't been up to the mark either. Will he be able to turn things around before it gets too late? We shall find out soon, stay around for the toss and teams..

To face a Gujarat Titans team that is just growing and growing in stature. A side that has most of its components functioning beautifully, including a top three that is the perfect blend of silk and steel, a bowling unit that is breathing fire, and boasts a winning formula that has recently deserted SRH.

And so, all eyes turn to Hyderabad tonight. Where SRH often feasted last year, and helped themselves to a scrumptious lunch earlier this season, but also where they have already been left wanting more once this year and have to or, rather, must rediscover the ideal batting ingredients.

There is, of course, still time before playoff implications kick in, but this just feels like a moment to be seized and subsequently won. SRH, to prove that their devil-may-care, throw-caution-to-the-wind attitude can still work; GT to flaunt their wares again and reiterate that these results are no aberration, and only a sign of things to come.

286, 190, 163 and 120 - a sequence that, in schools and colleges, could be used as an example of a geometric progression, and also to describe the Sunrisers Hyderabad and their abrupt and sudden fall from grace as a batting force.

The personnel has not changed. The fortunes have. Dramatically and drastically. And a side that was touted to breach the 300-run mark in an IPL innings, returns home with its tail firmly tucked between its legs, tallying just under 300 across their last two games.
