Gujarat Titans arrive for this clash after a mixed start in Ahmedabad with one loss and one win to their name.

There are a lot of good signs for RCB given the way they have started this season. Phil Salt, Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar - they all seem to be in good nick while Josh Hazlewood has been on fire with the new ball. Coming back after a break, his speeds are up and he has owned that back of a length as ever. Today will be a great challenge for him against a GT lineup that is quite top-heavy.

Pitch report: It's pitch number 6 which wasn't used last year. 68m and 61m square boundaries, the straight boundary is 73m. 68m and 74m pockets on either side of the straight boundary. The wicket looks pretty dry, but there could be good bounce. It's well covered with grass and the pitch looks firm. It does look like a very good track, the ball should come on nicely. Toss doesn't really matter with 197 being the average first innings total, local knowledge says that dew could be a factor later on, opine Murli Kartik and Matthew Hayden, in their pitch report.

Arnesh: "The last four games between these two have all been pretty iconic from an RCB perspective. Last year, there were the consecutive thrashings handed out by Jacks' 41 ball 100 and du Plessis' powerplay onslaught en route to the playoffs. Before that, a Gill century trumped one from Kohli to knock RCB out, and before that, Kohli played himself back into form in a chase to bring RCB closer to the playoffs. Hoping for another cracker today!"

Gujarat Titans arrive for this clash after a mixed start in Ahmedabad with one loss and one win to their name. Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler have done the heavy lifting for them so far with the bat, while the bowling attack does have a sting to it with a lot of quality options in both pace and spin department.

Washington Sundar bowling in tandem with Rashid Khan. Wonder if that's a sign.

Sherfane Rutherford - First of all, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to be playing in the IPL, it's always great to be playing in this tournament, as a team we're in a good space, we'll take 1 (win) from 2 on any day. Unfortunately for me, it hasn't been a good start, I think I could have done better, but it's a lot of learning and a lot of positives, I think I can keep learning as the days go by. It definitely did a lot for us (on the win in the last match), after the first half, we felt we were 10-15 runs short, but the bowlers adapted well on a slow surface, it's all about improving in small areas and doing better tonight. Definitely, I feel the same way 9on his performance). I still think I could have won the first match for my team. This is always a good wicket with a small ground (on the Chinnaswamy stadium), it's important to assess and make the adjustments. He's (on Virat Kohli) one of the greatest players, as a team, we have plans, it might not always work, but we'll have to follow the plans and hopefully he'll make a mistake.

Mohammed Siraj, the man RCB fans affectionally call 'Miyaan' or 'DSP', is now with GT. Siraj was RCB's joint-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2024 and was with them for seven years. But he is on the other side now. How will he fare against his former team? He had an emotional reunion with Kohli and a number of his former team-mates on the eve of the game. But, Siraj will also have a point to prove after not being retained.

It's time for the toss. Gill and Patidar are out there in the middle, and there is a huge roar as Danny Morrison welcomes those in attendance.

Schedule Update: Match No. 19 between KKR-LSG moved to April 8

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the rescheduling of Match No. 19 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The decision follows a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding the deployment of personnel across the city owing to festivities. The authorities have recommended that the game be moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated accordingly. The rest of the schedule remains unchanged.

For clarity, Sunday, April 6, will now be a single-header match day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20) as originally scheduled. Tuesday, April 8, will be a double-header match day, featuring the KKR vs. LSG fixture in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings hosting Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, as per the original schedule.
