See per the ITV tropes... ML has tu support FL first, then have a conflict and then realise his mistake... like this author says... it's a stage wise development.

Moreover this kind of track needs time and content to develop. Cannot be done in a few episodes. That's just diluting whatever happened.

Channel must have definitely asked to change somethings since it wants to focus on vamps this month.
