My guess again:

Snakes are semi divine beings and have a reputation of being flexible and associated with being fluid. Sometimes they are considered to be spiritual beings who may not always have a physical body/ can change their form to anything. Thus, to complete someone, using snake parts could be ideal. This way, Raahu and Ketu could be complete without becoming whole. I don't think Asuras would sacrifice for this and using some other animal may turn him into a yaksha, kinnara or kimpurusha, who can't live in the celestial realm. They are bound to the Earth. Nagas, on the other hand can exist in all realms.

Also Nagas and Asuras reside in the netherworlds and have been co-existing for a long time. Hence, it's possible that they were will to help and probably the most compatible.

Where did he hide it then

Vishnu took varah roop to rescue earth

I mixed earth ka water to cosmic water

Somewhere in cosmic world it was hidden

Same churning of ocean was Vishnu abode only

As his shree had left him

It was shown in dharm yodhha garud

Devtas had lost power as shree was gone

Daanavs asurs were ruling the world

That's when Vishnu suggested samudra manthan to get his Shri back

Whole sequence of getting the parvat vasuki turtle avtaar and all that was shown very nicely

I have some doubts about this too.

The ocean Hiranya hid the Earth does seem to be a cosmic ocean but I doubt if it was the same milk ocean Lord Vishnu resides in.

Some texts mention that Lord Vishnu entered Vaikuntha later on but not sure when... In a way it makes sense since till Narasimha Avatar he had to change form and physically be there whereas from Vamana Avatar he was born and grew up like humans do. Maybe he made Vaikuntha his abode somewhere after Varaha or Vamana Avatar...? Goddess Lakshmi appeared during Kurma Avatar but where did they both stay till then?

Also I did read versions which said the Goddesses Lakshmi, Parvati and Saraswati were initially forms of Adishakti and were sent as consorts of Lords Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma with the condition that if they disrespect the women, they will leave. They happen to do so and hence the Devis left and had to be brought back after a struggle, via Samudra Mandhan, through Himavan's penance and Brahma's penance.

There is another version of this story which says the gods Vishnu and Brahma were too besmirched with Devi Adishakti but Lord Shiva was not so perturbed, hence she decided to stay with him and sent a part of herself to Lord Vishnu and to Lord Brahma.

By the way, what did they show in Dharm Yodha Garuda? I was watching it until Diti started screaming like a banshee and then dropped it. Wanted to watch it later but couldn't start again because of time constraints. Will try to watch later.

And they loose Shri

They loose all.powers

Plus I think bhrigu rishi story came where he hits vishnu on chest and that's why Shri got angry and left

Once devtas lost all powers they went in hiding and asur samrajya had started
