Despite his foresightedness and maturity, I think Talha did not think of the consequences of the baraat not arriving at the venue ..beyond the wedding stalled that is …he probably kept hoping he’d be able to convince Roshi and things would not get to that point ..but after she flat out refused to listen even the day before the wedding, he had to resort to desperate measures..he could have approached her family or his father and shared with them the kind of man Sharik was …but that would have led to many questions ..on why Roshi was adamant to marry him despite all that …even her parents would’ve known blackmail could not be the only reason …more importantly I think Talha did not want to reveal the ugly assault truth even ..because he wanted to protect Roshi ..the question of why she even accompanied Sharik to a random place would’ve come up …he understood Roshi’s impulsiveness, even her mild infatuation with Sharik that had led her down that path, but he didn’t want to expose it to her own family even, forget his father …and when he realised that a life was at stake thanks to his efforts to stall the wedding, he did what an honourable man would do …somewhere he held himself responsible for not protecting Roshi from Day 1…he would be the one to make amends now ..irrespective of whether he deserved love or did not, irrespective of what Roshi deserved, this was the time to protect a life and a girl and a family’s honour and he stood up to the task ..this is how I am seeing it !

Here's my take on this..

I think roshis words could be because she loves talha deeply and only wished and yearned for his love in return. She wants him to love her with all his might and heart. Now we as viewers know that Talha indeed loves her deeply and insanely enough to think he could let her go that she was better off without him and deserved better etc. But roshi as of now is not aware of this angle from talhas end. She doesn't even beleive he could be in love with her because of the way his rejection came at the beach. At that point we knew he's doing it out of his twisted emotions but she took it as outright rejection.

Now given the situation of how the wedding happens, she probably thinks he married her out of pity, sympathy, obligation, or coz to save her and her familys honour given the groom did not turn up. And she doesn't want any of this as in pity, sympathy, obligation, guilt, morality because it's butchering to her self respect and her heart.

All she wants is love from him. Now ofcourse it shall be talhas job to make her feel and realise and most importantly beleive that he really has been in love with her from a long time and that she's the one whose been ruling his heart and soul. As of now only talha and ofcourse abid uncle and us viewers know this...not roshi...that is why she is being this way..

Now she will be his wife, jo na shaadi ko maanti hai aur na khud ko uski biwi. He can't shout at her to make her hear. Now I would like to see the adaptation of - Taming Of The Shrew.

Aakhir kaise Talha Aayat ko apni Roshi bana paata hai.

Mehnat toh karni padegi Talha ko. Phir dekhiye Roshi apni roshni phailaake kaise Talha ke saamne pighal jaayegi...

Talha didn't tell her to blindly say yes to any random guy and sit for the nikaah. In fact he tried dissuading her from marrying that fraud. Aur kya kar sakta hai bechaara.

@Bold... Why is Talha responsible for an adult girl who behaves like an 8 years old? He might consider his responsibility during the office hours, which he did many times, and thanks to him Roshi was saved during that stay back too. But what she does after work hours is none of his concern. It was his goodness that he went all the way that night to find her abandoned on the road, pick her, bring to his home, sheltered her for the night, and most of all, kept her dignity intact in front of the entire world including his and her family.

I am not blaming Talha ..just saying he will feel responsible ..because he’s that kind of person …simply because she met Sharik at the workplace, Talha will hold himself responsible for maybe not having run a better background check and hired someone like Shariq …he was shown wondering how he could stop Roshi from destroying her life by marrying Shariq ..so he felt responsible enough to do something to stop it from going through
