It kind of makes sense to me why she is doing this - coz she wants to both protect her family & Talha in a way from the fallout of her calling off the shaadi. And Roshi may feel that unless Talha actually takes a stand for her, Roshi isn't going to do anything because of how much he has hurt her in the past
