Part of a tough group, Bangladesh would’ve been expected to turn up and cause at least an upset to stir things up. While they still have that opportunity today against a downcast Pakistan side, they themselves have had little to be upbeat about. Their experienced duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah, who ideally should’ve been like treasury bonds that the team could’ve banked on, have instead been like a volatile cryptocurrency. That necessitated the youngsters to step up and to their credit, the likes of Shanto, Hridoy and Jaker Ali have given it their best shot. They bowled fairly well against New Zealand but like in nearly every ICC tournament that Bangladesh have been a part of, the gulf in quality and performance has been evident.

The two umpires are also out for a stroll, one with his brolly up and Alex Wharf, without one. They are checking the damp patches on the outfield.

The result of this game will have no bearing on Group A. New Zealand and India have already qualified for the semis, and Pakistan and Bangladesh have been knocked out. So, this was game was essentially a dead rubber with Pakistan and Bangladesh hoping to sign off on a positive note. The two teams haven't made their own luck at the tournament, looking out of ideas at most times, and are heading into their last fixture knowing the result doesn't really matter

Hamdan: Pak is lacking clarity of roles in batting order, they need to be agressive in the field too and moreover, they should play with positive mindset and try and reduce the percentage of dot balls in the powerplay.

Aayush: Pakistan cricket team should look forward to building up a side for 2027 CWC. They need to back Babar and Rizwan at 3/4 and opt for genuine openers. Usman Khan should be given a chance as he has got potential to play Fakhar kind of role. Maybe change the fast bowling as well with Hasnain into side.

Sagar Upadhyay: They need to stick to their basics and give their best today and thinking to finish this tournament with a good win.
