9:06pm An innings that went nowhere. Mooney departed early, and Wolvaardt followed suit soon, leaving the Giants tottering inside three overs. Hemalatha then tried to counter-attack but failed in that pursuit, with Gardner also not able to rescue her side this time. Dottin's wild hack across the line was not great either, with Deol the only batter to offer some sustained resistance, alongside Gautam, who sparkled during her brief stay. Towards the end, Satghare got a couple of boundaries away, and that has taken GG to 120.

Poor batting. Good fielding. Brilliant execution of the variations. Outcome? Just two double-digit scores in the top 6. Gujarat Giants will look back at this innings and perhaps think "Did we go too hard too early"? On a brand new pitch, it was important for them to assess the conditions and plan their shot-selection accordingly. Unfortunately for the hosts, none of that was on display and they just kept losing wickets at regular intervals. To offer a better evidence, the highest partnership of the innings was 23 runs between Harleen and Tanuja for the 8th wicket. Bar Parunika Sisodia, playing her debut game, every other bowler made a mark and provided breakthroughs to keep a tight lid on the scoring rate. 120 is surely not going to be enough and add to that the dew factor, the home team need a miracle to pull this off. Hayley Matthews: We have definitely exceeded expectations with them getting 120 on the board. The team have picked themselves really well. Everyone's obviously come here today with a lot of energy and hungry to improve on what happened in the last match. Hopefully we can make this one an easy chase

Towards the end, Satghare got a couple of boundaries away, and that has taken GG to 120. Which does not seem nearly enough at this stage, especially against a batting line-up as strong as MI's. As for their bowling unit, almost all of them stood up, barring the debutant Sisodia, who endured a tough start to her WPL career. They will fancy their chances of chasing this total and GG will require something special if they have to turn this game around. Join us in a bit for the chase!
