Saqib Mahmood: I think it’s a dead rubber in terms of the series but in terms of the team we can take a lot heading into the Champions Trophy. (On the Indian pitches) It changes quite a bit in the evening as the dew comes on. It has been really good in the powerplay for batting. It’s my first time in India and I’m learning a lot, it has been good fun. It’s been a little stop-start for me. A few years ago in 2022, I cemented my spot a bit but then I had a stress fracture. Hopefully, I can make a comeback and play in all formats.

Jason: "Karthik, always enjoy your analysis. What do you think has happened to England in ODIs? Recent results are terrible." -- I think it's got something to do with playing so few ODIs and having an unsettled combination full of inexperienced players. I think some of them are still learning the craft of ODIs, and I expect they'll get there. Another issue, which Alagappan Muthu's preview notes, is the sameness of a lot of their bowling, which tends to get exposed when conditions don't quite suit their attack.
