Stat: India have now lost the toss in ten successive ODIs - the second most such sequence by a team behind Netherlands's 11 matches bw Mar 2011 & Aug 2013. They last time they won the toss was in the semifinal against New Zealand at Wankhede in WC 2023.

India Vs England 3rd ODI Live Score: Rohit & Co. Eye Clean Sweep In Ahmedabad - News18

Saqib Mahmood: I think it’s a dead rubber in terms of the series but in terms of the team we can take a lot heading into the Champions Trophy. (On the Indian pitches) It changes quite a bit in the evening as the dew comes on. It has been really good in the powerplay for batting. It’s my first time in India and I’m learning a lot, it has been good fun. It’s been a little stop-start for me. A few years ago in 2022, I cemented my spot a bit but then I had a stress fracture. Hopefully, I can make a comeback and play in all formats.

Pitch report: This one is right in the centre, 66m to the left and right and 74m straight down the ground. This is the same pitch used for the World Cup final, black soil pitch. It played slower in the first half and better for batting in the second half. The hessian has just come off so it's a bit damp but there is still time left before play starts it should dry out. There are some cracks that could keep the bowlers interested. Looks like a bowl first wicket. One of those pitch where if a batter gets in he can score but it might not be easy for the new comer. Dew is a concern, there was a lot of dew last night - opine Deep Dasgupta and Graeme Swann.

Shakil Ahmad: "Form is temporary class in permanent. Though Virat is not firing, not in his best time but still he is precious asset of the team. He is a big event player. I am sure he will be among big scores during upcoming Champions Trophy."

Mustafa Moudi: "So All the Sides that have ever Won a World Cup (ODI or T20I) are in Action today except for West Indies, who won't be part of the Champions Trophy too. Feeling Sad for them!!"

Jason: "Karthik, always enjoy your analysis. What do you think has happened to England in ODIs? Recent results are terrible." -- I think it's got something to do with playing so few ODIs and having an unsettled combination full of inexperienced players. I think some of them are still learning the craft of ODIs, and I expect they'll get there. Another issue, which Alagappan Muthu's preview notes, is the sameness of a lot of their bowling, which tends to get exposed when conditions don't quite suit their attack.

Dave Fern : "A great Champions Trophy rehearsal for both teams - India will definitely be the happier team so far, but it's all good practice for England getting used to the conditions and more spin bowling. Let's hope it's another enthralling contest today"
