Well of course. That situation there was much more impactful, because it was years of pent up anger & misery that poured out due to her sense of betrayal. Armaan finally understood that he was a puppet for her all this time, just because Abhira didn't fit that mould she wanted.

Yahaan this confrontation is a more muted parallel, because the situation is completely different. Armaan is more aware & this time he cannot blame the family alone, because a lot of the choices he made were his own. That is why this telling off is more of a rant for himself & to shut that mother of his from spewing shit about Abhira.
