misogyny is too deep rooted in our society to separate it from the target audience. Women are not only the victim, but can also be the biggest enablers and cheer leaders of misogyny. Their target audience also comprises of very real vidya and kaveri's.

I have heard about parents (both mother and father) cursing their son that he will never be happy in his life since he went against their wishes and married girl of his choice(inter caste marriage).

The only difference is in real life, after such unpleasant experiences, couple stays away from their parents, since this is Rishta where family drama is necessary, Armaan-Abhira are shown to be staying in the same house.
