But India were sweating as Bumrah's fitness was a concern with him having gone for a scan after lunch. But Indian openers started off freely. But Boland came in and struck. From 42 for 1 to 78 for 4, India had lost their footing. But then Pant took charge and scored a brisk 61 off 33 balls. India ended the day with a lead of 145. If the deck continues to play like this, India will have the advantage. But they would want to add a few runs early on day 3.

Beau Webster: It's been a hell of a Test, it's been in fast forward mode isn't it? With the amount of wickets, I am just happy that I could contribute with the bat, few catches and wicket there as well, so really happy. The good thing from this team is that you have full backing from the squad to play my natural game, and I am defending the stumps and trying to score as much as I can, got a few away today and it was pretty dicey there for a bit, but I once the nerves settled it was business as usual. It's a real tussle, we don't know what a good score is yet and obviously plenty on offer for the quicks, happy to see the back of Rishabh pant, and one wore wicket tomorrow morning and we are into the bowlers. Hopefully I won't be needed with the bat, but if I am will be really happy to get the job done.
