Yes, for me also the name sounds very funny and weird. Actually in our language, "maida" means all 'purpose flour/white flour' which is very bad for our health and is usually called as white poison

It’s not maida. It’s Maa’ida. It’s an Arabic name & the name of a chapter in Qur’an as well.
