Revanth Reddy slams Tollywood for siding with Allu Arjun

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, on Saturday, December 21, dubbed the Telugu film industry unempathetic for siding with actor Allu Arjun and ignoring the victims of the Sandhya theatre stampede. He also pointed out that Arjun showed no concern for law and order or the deceased victim, despite being informed of her death while he was at the theatre.

“This is a family that sacrificed so much just to fulfill their child’s wish. Instead of showing empathy or standing with them, the film fraternity chose to gather around the actor. Did Allu Arjun lose a leg or his eyesight? Were his kidneys affected? Does this reflect the priorities of the Telugu film industry?” the CM remarked in the ongoing Assembly session, adding that while everyone from Tollywood dropped in to visit Arjun, no one from the industry visited the child. He also asked what message actors are trying to give the society through such behaviour.

The CM further pulled up Allu Arjun, stating that he showed no concern despite being informed of a death. “While leaving, he waved to the crowd despite being informed that a death had taken place. What kind of apathy is this?” the CM asked.

These statements come in the backdrop of the stampede at Sandhya theatre involving Telugu actor Allu Arjun. Arjun had made a visit to the premiere show of his movie Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4 at the theatre, triggering a stampede which killed 35-year-old Revathi, a resident of Dilshuknagar. Revathi’s 8-year-old son Sri Teja is still undergoing treatment at Hyderabad’s KIMS Hospital.

CM Revanth also announced Rs 25 lakh in financial assistance for Revathi’s family while reiterating his decision to ban benefit shows and special concessions for the film industry in Telangana.

“The time has come for the industry to act with greater compassion and accountability,” he said, adding that despite the Chikadapally police informing Sandhya theatre a day in advance that they would not be able to provide police forces, Allu Arjun went ahead with the visit without an eye on law and order.

The CM added that the Assistant Commissioner of Police had to go and meet Sandhya theatre officials and request Allu Arjun to leave the premises owing to the commotion. “But he refused to leave until the movie ended. It's only when the DCP intervened and said that they would be forced to arrest him, that the actor left,” he said.

Waving to the crowd knowing someone died..no words..fame & money ne andha kar dia hai in logo ko..glad i never saw any of his movies..

The way allu arjun has handled the whole situation is shocking, the whole pr stunt of getting the paps to film him being taken to the police station and then getting them to film him coming back home with the whole drama of his family hugging him as if he had gone to jail for years, even though he had been there for 2-3 days. And now we know he knew about the death and he still kept waving to the crowd, he didn't care about the death, all he cared about was his films success

Disgusting, this hero worshipping has to end. He clearly has no regard for human life, there is no remorse even when he was getting arrested. He clearly thinks he is above the law, i say put him behind the bars for 5-10 years or at least make him do court ke chakkar every month so that he thinks thrice before doing such stunts.

Whats the new news ?

Not to make excuses but one reason everyone visited Allu Arjun was because everyone in the industry is keeping score to see who “supports” whom 🤷🏽‍♀️. Just like everyone did their mandatory tweet when Salman was sentenced for the hit and run case.

I’m actually curious about this politician speaking up against the industry? Is he a nepo baby politician from a powerful family himself?

Revanth Reddy comes from quite a poor family, he was a big time rowdy in his early youth and a strong ABVP leader .

He got married to a Congress leader niece and switched to congress.

He was arrested by KCR and was not allowed to meet his daughter at her wedding. With that revenge in mind he came to power.

People in Telangana are very angry with him as he is quite distant from reality and not providing basic amenities.

Though he is quite right, he is saying all this to distract people from his own incompetence in running the state

Allu Arjun had a press meet and stated against these allegations that’s character assassinating him. He was unaware of the death and only next morning he was informed about the tragedy, also he was asked to not visit the victim as to avoid any further stampedes near the hospital. He’s trying to apologize and show condolences since 5th December regarding the unfortunate situation, however it’s been a series of political conspiracies and allegations given his aunt’s brother in law Pawan Kalyan is the leading a party which is opposed by this guy I think. Also anybody visiting him shall not be an issue as he was wrongly arrested for sth the police and security were completely responsible.

The parliament discussing movie stars’ code of conduct over an accident and making it look like entire fault is his is a good enough example of how it’s a move to sabotage Allu Arjun’s reputation and target people related to him.

I agree with the falsly targetting Allu Arjun, especially as he showed his concern towards the family as soon as he got to know about the incident.
