The writers surely are mocking the audience, Ruhaan is a combination of Armaan and Ruhi's name. This is deliberate, even a blind person can see what nasty track this is setting up for the future. Truth of the matter writers don't want the audience to spare even millisecond of sympathy for Ruhi, she doesn't even get the respect of a credible villain. Is that Ruhi's fault or the writers who write for Ruhi.

Are they gonna kill Rohit then Abhira thrown out. Armaan helping Ruhi take care of the kid (Like in S3, Abhimanyu helped Arohi) and Ruhi will be like your name is the combination of your mom and dad-like-figure (chances are family will flip and ask them to be married for child sake)
