We have had male leads drink alcohol before. If they give it up, people are ok. Like fahad Mustafa in pul e sirat was an alcoholic who then later found religion because of his wife (played by Ayeza) and gave up drinking. In Aye Musht e Khaak, Feroze was an atheist (which is a bigger risk than showing a drunk hero in Pakistan) who also had a live-in gf and he was even abusive towards her. But then he turned to religion and became a good guy. That drama was a hit. As long as the hero gives up bad habits, like BA did, people are ok. But you can't show hero having EMA once he is a good guy.

In the 19th episode,I could understand in a better way why Bilal fell in love with Sadaf.

Here people had lot of complaints regarding the lack of buildup of bilal's feelings. Bilal a womanizer,a drunkard who doesn't believe in religion,doesn't believe in God(in Islam,drinking and relationships with women is considered irreligious)..he saw a girl crossing road,got attracted to her and when he wasn't allowed to take her name while drinking,he realized what is purity,what is divinity ...the more encounters he had with her,he fell for her even more not because of her perfections,but because of her stupidity and imperfections...and "your imperfections are perfect for the heart which is meant to love you" applies for Bilal's love for Sadaf...he feels so much connected to her that he could read her eyes and body language..she doesn't say anything but he can read the hatred and discomfort in her eyes for him...

Its very old school..and the format of the show was actually to show that love from character's side can be felt even when leads are not in the same frame

And for Sadaf,I could understand her better in 19th episode...she was a very stubborn,impulsive and immature character....but Bilal's true love and the way he lets Sadaf go despite doing so much for their family...changes her into a person who could understand love..and to understand what love is,she had to separate from the one who taught her the true meaning of love....as she understand love and life better,she'll realize that she shouldn't take anyone for granted and value true love...not everyone who is a bad person in world's eyes is actually a bad person himself.

Sadaf having an ema with bilal would be make a characterless woman. Already audience are pissed at her decision to reject green flag billu and marry that nalla zeher. Agar isne ema kar liya na, toh danish ke language mein bolu toh ye 2 takkay ki aurat khelayegi.
