Farhan and Ahmed still has their reputation of giving great performances and choosing good scripts even if they do not work commercially but Wahaj has lost that cred. Zahid was giving so many successful projects once upon a time, and it was one great performance after another (his old filmography is so much better than Wahaj's), but look at him now. None of his recent works is either commercially or critically successful, nor is that audience trust there anymore ke Zahid ka project hai kuch toh accha hoga.

Wahaj used to choose good scripts too. It’s only in the last few years that his selection has been weird . TB 2 will be his do or die project but it shouldn’t come directly after SMD . Wahaj needs to move away from romance for the moment.

People hated Hania Aamir after MPHT. She got a lot of hate and everyone said she couldn’t act. She bounced back with one show.

I don’t think SMD is as disastrous as people are making it out to be. And I actually like his performance. I don’t care for reviewers but even many of them agree that his performance for the last couple of episodes good.

C’mon Anu there have been so many shows with marriages on contracts / blackmail and couple sail thru .

You are absolutely right. I know many people who are watching and liking it. Aam insaan. Not social media. Of course this is not a masterpiece or devoid of flaws but for general audience it works. And wahaj is still a big crowd puller.

Wahaj alone can’t save SMD. Fact is that Maya’s performance has been below par . Hira is inconsistent and Usama is the same as his other shows. Remove Bilal Abdullah and this show is unwatchable. It’s basically another MPHT just without the views or trps.

Hope the dancing doesn’t eat up too much of the episode

A big lesson for Kaddu from both Ishq Hua and SMD are that TV and Film are different mediums. If you overdo the filminess on TV, it looks contrived and cringe, not larger than life. Good TV means authentic performances. A Maula Jutt on TV can't get away with acting like Maula Jutt was on film. The execution for TV would need to be toned down - enough that it still conveys the heightened emotions of the character while still feeling authentic & natural.

One thing is clear for sure..this show had not worked for Wahaj and also this show has worked negatively against Maya too. The script,direction everything has taken down the drama..but I hope they can come back with a better script.
