SMD script could have been salvaged by good direction. Haseeb is at fault here.

I dont mind if the actual romance of the leads start towards the 2nd half of the show..but the buildup in these 20 episodes are so bad that you don't feel anything for the characters(right now I dont even connect to Bilal for loving Sadaf so much)..I actually feel bad for wasting maya wahaj chemistry like this

Other actors have danced in Pak dramas. Maybe they’re better but not all are. For example, I found Iqra kind of stiff in that laal suit song. It isn’t that big of a deal. His performance on the whole will matter more.

Haseeb is at fault I agree..but I feel he wasnt interested to do this show..

And the writer-director understanding wasnt there at all. On the paper,story is not exactly bad..but something went wrong with the execution..this is a complicated story and only Nadeem Baig could have done justice to this.

If Nadeem Baig would have directed this..it would have been so much better because Nadeem understands KRQ's vision.

Honestly Wahaj is just plain unlucky . Fahad Mustafa and Badar made their worst projects with him, now Haseeb’s career worst direction is also with him.

Perosnally I felt MEIN was solid script, didn’t find issues with directions too maybe few places angels went down where u don’t see actors face when it’s important but What went wrong

1. Casting Wahaj as Zaid who was riding high on TB / MK success was mistake , they should have gone for any good looking actor who would look rich - Adeel from KMKT would fit bill and also any actress who would have elevated Aira char , it was solid but actress was bland

2. Prompting it as love story when it was anything but love story they should have promoted it was family drama

It would have been bigger hit than it was but EOD Mein was MJ show all the way and Ayeza khan was wow . I started for Wahaj but it was MJ who kept me till end .

SMD - They failed to connect char with audiences, the feel is missing and for love story one has to understand why hero is so in love with heroine and in this case u don’t get appeal in Sadaf . For example shibra was normal but Shameer saw glimpses of his mom in her and u understand why he is pulled towards and why is he going extra mile for her but here they never tried to establish why Sadaf has BA in hold .

There are some moments where you can see Haseeb’s talents such as when Bilal stopped his car yesterday to cry. It’s the melodrama that he can’t do at all.

I dont think the connect would be there..the way her character is written till now its very difficult to make audience connect to her again.

But it all depends on her realizations now and how her divorce and post divorce track is handled...how she starts loving Bilal..the show is already considered flop by audience..if the makers can re-establish the connection of audience with Sadaf than the show might gain momentum and become a HIT but I dont think this is happening...this will be a miracle..

Only creating good visuals is not enough...this is mainly DOP and cinematographer job..its the overall execution which is at fault

I think Humraaz will replace SMD and it’s coming pretty soon with the way it’s being promoted. No way SMD is going above 35 episodes and it’s now just about getting the leads reunited.
