I think he loves her. All his monologues are true. But the only way he could have married her was to get Saman on-board and for that he needed to dangle the maafinama and public appeal carrot in front of her. And for Mehru, he needed to get in her good books, so he used the ploy of leaking information and wanting to be a better person to get her to like him...because in his current form(the one we saw yesterday she was quite disgusted by him). Also, now that he has what he wants, he is free to think about Zain...which he did...so his list of priorities were

1)Get Mehru
2) Get party ticket
3) Free brother

Also, it riles him to think that, in spite of being her husband, he is not important enough to Mehru that she will take his divorce threat seriously or sign the maafinama

Yep I kind of agree with you here , though I am not sure about the depth of his feelings yet and I hope they show it to us in the coming episodes.

Its selfish kind of love where she lives in his ivory tower, looks pretty, does bak-bak on dates while he sneaks his hand into hers but not where she'll call him out on his shady side and tries to make him a better man...

I think he thinks he hates her because of her sending Zain to prison etc but he also likes/loves her. Shahnawaz is going to be a very conflicted man. He thought he made Mehru fall in love with him and that's enough for him to manage the situation where she agrees to him. He's still stuck on his idea that he only does things he wants to. Remember when Mehru went to get the cheque from Shah's office, he made it a point to tell her, he's not doing it because he listened to her, and there itself should be an indication how affected he was by he by his denial. He still is in denial mode.

But he admitted he's in love to Saman & was surprised when she told him let's talk to Beenish & Safsar like what do they have to do with my mohobbat!

That is also to show Mehru that she is not so important to him(which isn't true) since she has hurt his ego by refusing to sign the papers...now it has become a personal challenge to get her to sign those papers

But by involving Amal in this she would rather go for divorce than Maafinaama! She will have proper grounds for divorce!
