there has to be something major…to move the story forward. Poddars are getting worse,.and after baby goes back to RuRo..abhimaan can’t go on living at PH..because then it will be just a repeat of pre pregnancy story..where Ruhi is glorified and abhira abused …and they showed that already...so something has to break. Either abhira is leaving or abhimaan leaving together ..baby will only go with them if he is theirs ..otherwise he stays with RuRo..and Poddars firm is going to sink.. because manoj is an alcoholic and Sanjay is a corrupt lawyer..rohit is useless. Charu is a novice. I think you meant successors right - coz Akshara Sr's predecessors had the most successful & amazing shaadi & best life - Rajshree & Vishambharnath Maheshwari were the only non toxic & amazing married couple in the whole show who got to live a full life

Unless there is a leap (which i do not think is near), they arent going any further than the outhouse max abhira can move to goenka house for a while.
