Isn't SMD still one of the few shows of Geo that makes it to the top 10 list while the views per episode hit 10 millions weekly? Despite the fact that Geo's overall GRPs are pretty down.

A lot depends on the slot, over all GRPs etc etc. Apart from of course the script, characters and actors.

Audience have evolved a lot. Even if smd aired in a non competitve slot, it wouldn't get double digit trps. Why because of the outdated writing and snail pace

I think masala love stories have a connect with the audience. Be it TB aur now Iqtidar. Iqtidar airs on Green and obviously the ratings are low coz Green itself is low in terms of their GRPs but the YouTube views are pretty high which makes it clear that masala, cheesy, fiery kind of love stories have a mass appeal...it's not that Iqtidar's story is good, it's pretty typical to say the least but then main pairing and their characters is what has clicked with the audience.

JN actually has led the slot for quite some time

And yet it has found a specific section of the audience as the YT views indicate. Which makes it clear that slow burn and old school love stories do have an audience base which might not be as large as massy romance but they do have an audience.

Some are blaming their lack of chemistry for having fewer trps altho mahaj only had three scenes in fourteen episodes. Humsha and Ammar have taken up all of the screen time so far, and their trps have been less, which clearly shows that the audience are not interested in seeing sideys. In contrast, the episode with the highest trps ever was the one in which wahaj had the most screen time.

Also jbg was post partition period drama, and was made for niche audience, it wasnt everyone's cup of tea. Also the show wasn't about mahajs character's lovestory so claiming that audience had rejected jbg as they don't like mahaj together is so funny lol.

Interesting, people have been mocking SMD TRPs but JN was getting the similar numbers as per the screenshots above on the beginning. It can still gain momentum towards the end like JN did

Nah, the script is trash. Content sub se important hota hai. They would have done better in a different script

See those who do not like their pairing will find faults in them and keep dissing, I am not bothered about it coz not everyone will like what we do and vice versa.

Maya and Wahaj have a sizzling chemistry as per me and what's keeping the audience at least the YT audience hooked is when will Bilal get Sadaf...When will she fall for him and when will the two unite. I am pretty hooked tbh coz I do not mind such old school love stories.

My only issue is the pace and that's about it

Even shows with unknown actors get views on YT, it's no big deal. Yes chemistry is subjective so no point arguing about that.
