If he was really playing her, then all his mental monologues about his love was for whose benefit?

The only people he is playing right now are his mother and Amal. I think he is going to trick his mother into believing that he is trapping Mehru for Zain to get her support. Maybe he told her he will ditch her post-elections and marry Amal but will he really?

With Amal, he is keeping appearances, so that she doesn't any wiser, just like Mehru did by attending the engagement.

Also, of all the reasons Mehru could give to reject him, she gave him the reason of status?? Seriously??? Are they dumbing her down so that she can fall in love with him?

Mehru is not in love with him. So that's a win-win. They can keep fighting in Shah mansion now.

I don't understand Mehru's family at all. I think Chachi just wants Mehru married before Rafay changes his mind but why is MEhru's mom so dense?
